Hi guys,

we have invested a lot of time and made our ChromaGun VR ready!
https://twitter.com/pixel_maniacs/status/715577500018020352

Are you guys going to buy an Oculus or Vive?
Do you think it's worth the effort to add VR support?

PS: Here's a GTA V gift for your help! ;-)

VR is the future, but just, if there are enough games supporting it and if it gets cheaper. So yes, I think it's worth, if the game is good.

Edit: ChromaGun looks nice -> wishlisted ;)

VR as a concept? Sure. But VR as a box you clamp to your head?

I wait when VR will be a lot cheaper like 200$ for VR headset + 200$ for VR GPU

Considering 3D films nauseate me, I figure VR will make me projectile vomit.
So yeah .... no.

Unless Natalie Dormer is in it. I'd puke repeatedly for her.

"3D movies" are just useless attempt to call something 3D. If something was truly 3D, I doubt your eyes would take it same way.

Excellent, we have a volunteer to stand in front of me when I try it for the first time. XD
Don't worry, I'll eat a small meal because I like you. ;)

But hey, how many of your relatives can say they puked on Mount Everest?

Well, with VR, the best I'll be able to say is "I puked while pretending I was on Mt Everest."
Again, I'd be fine with that if Natalie Dormer were there. ;)
Or Emma Stone.
Or ... well, this could become a very long list.

I still can't put together why you'd like to puke on hot girls. Hard to tell whether you actually really like them or hate them.

Vive. Yes, when Steam starts selling hardware at my country.

Come on, Steam... Let me give you my money!

Hey, at least it will be "beta tested" when they start selling it in your country!

First it's too expensive. Second not impressive games library. I predict t will be like Kinnect and Move. For first it will be ahhhh, ohhhhhhhh, woooooooow, awesome and later... meeeeeeh

I disagree.
The games where you need to physically walk around, yes, those will probably be a gimmick, with a limited appeal. But, to sit back with a controller, and have the entire world wrapped around you, rather than having to look into a computer screen - that I believe there will be a big market for.

I'm talking about games like Fallout 3 and Skyrim, which are all about exploration, horror games like Alien Isolation and Amnesia, and story-rich FPS like Bioshock. (or even less story-rich ones like Call of Duty).

For those games, the extra immersion will absolutely be worth it.

Ok it's your opinion and I respect it. Anyway I still thinking VR will finish like Move and Kinnect. I don't need that and I will definitelly not buy it. A lot of people have Kinnect and Move because when that stuff go in where was a big market too for it. But where is Kinnect and Move now? You can say "Xbox, show me TV program"? Wow, awesome :D I think there will be hype in VR for entrance, but after few years I just think it will die like previous stuff like VR. Then it maybe will be back to try again for 10 years. When people will forgot how crap was that.

the difference is that kinnect and move altered the way you play games - you had to physically move (e.g. swinging your arms, jumping, dancing).
VR can alter the way you play games, which, I agree, is mostly a gimmick that few people will really care for. The "innovative gameplay" or whatever they're touting, which involves walking, swaying back and forth, etc., probably won't take off.

But, separately and distinctly, carries the function of being an AV device. Everyone uses monitors, most people use speakers or headphones, and plenty of people prefer larger monitors and would welcome the wrap-around visuals.
I see it having value as basically a better monitor with attached headphones, as plenty of people will enjoy the enhanced visuals. That, I believe, has a lot of potential.

Even if I could somehow magically afford it I can't use it, I get motion sickness very easily.

Nintendo Virtual Boy, 3-D movies, and Oculus Rift. I haven't bought any of them, for precisely the same reasons. :)

Nope definitely not. Still seems like a pointless idea to me and I still think it will die out again soon enough.

Not any time soon - any of those.

I really can't imagine something that big, heavy, expensive on my head like Oculus for more than ~5 minutes. So not buying it.
I can spend 500$ on vodka but not on c*ap like Oculus.

I'll probably go for VR when there will be mature products, more efficient, less expensive, and widely supported in gaming industry. Seeing how Oculus creator screwed his backers, I'll try to use something else, if possible depending on the aforementioned criterias.

Definitely in the future, don't have money and a good computer to run VR programs ATM.

Nah, I'm a student, so I can't afford it. + I start feeling ill after 15 minutes, so I couldn't even use it all that much :P

I'm interested in seeing how it plays out. It can only get cheaper/better from here on out. For now, it's still in its early stages and it's above my budget.

Not for a while. I generally don't like being a gen 1 adopter. In a couple years there will be a new model and a lower price and hopefully a stronger market. Right now I'm leaning towards the Vive but hey, lets see where things stand in two or three years.

I'm not going to be an early adopter of VR. Currently it looks really neat, but it's too expensive for me, but depending on what the future holds, I might get a VR-headset.

I think it has a long way to go before I spend $800+ on it(not to mention having a good enough computer to run it). Even then I can't see myself paying that much for another gaming gimmick. Kinect and Go are terrible and while VR is completely different I'm going to have to see some badass games being made in the next 2-3 years to even consider it.
