Probably the fact that it's a compressed archive hosted on a free file sharing service, rather than a setup MSI or some other format hosted on a well-known gaming website, where it would've had a virus scan.

Better safe than sorry. I used to have a DOWNLOAD ALL THE THINGS attitude until I got a keylogger on my system somehow, and had my checking account drained.

To make an Virus or Trojan FUD is easy, very easy...your personal program will not find it in the most of the cases...

I don't disagree with that statement - however, a file someone downloads off of FilePlanet or Cnet (or a comparable website) is more trustworthy than a Mediafire link.
