I know there are other topics about it and i can check guides to how to choose and so on but i want the opinions to be personal to my build.
So my computer has some years now and limit me on on playing games at their full potential, so i thought that it's time at least to think at what can i get instead.
For now I tried to choose some pieces that seems to be good but this is the first time i build a computer and I haven't a good knowledge about hardware(I never cared before).
This is what i chosen so far:
-CPU: Intel i5-3570k, using the stock cooler
-MOTHERBOARD: AsRock z77 extreme 4
-GRAPHIC CARD: evga Nvidia Geforce GTX 660 TI EDIT: now i'm changing idea and going, maybe, to an hd7950(but which of them?)
-RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR3 1600mhz cl9 2 x 4GB
-HARD DISK: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB
-PSU: Corsair Enthusiast TX650 v2
-CASE: Cooler Master Storm Enforcer EDIT: maybe i've change idea also on the case now i'm more for a corsair 500r(I like his design, what do you think?)

It's a good build? Am i missing or can i change something?
The price of this would cost me about 866 euro.
What do you think about it, can you give some hits?

EDIT(after the comments): i would prefer to not use AMD and ATI pieces in my computer cause i've always had problem with those.

That's pretty much the same as my PC... except I have a Geforce GTX 670, a Seasonic 600W PSU and some simple, low voltage Samsung RAM.

It's a good PC. Has run anything I've thrown at it without a hitch.

I have about the same build, and it works great.

everything looks good apart from the gpu, might as well get a 7950 for the same price but ALOT better performance. a top end radeon 7950 is up there with a 680. I know you don't like ati but it would be worth it in the long run as the 660ti probably wont be able to max out some of the big titles coming out this year like watchdogs. Its up to you...

Ok, the more I search the more i'm confused, i'm passing almost all these days looking for informations about hardware...

So, I have a question, it's really that important to have an higher memory and an higher memory bus? I've read(so I don't know if it's true) that if you aren't using resolutions higher than 1080p(so for example multiple monitors) it's not that difference and i'm not planning to use more than 1080.
As for the clock speed if, for example, i would pick the msi gtx660ti pe/oc would be better than for example the gigabyte hd 7950?

I also know that nvidia can use physx that, seeing demonstactions on games like borderland2, seems nice to see but i don't know if it's worth for choosing the card...

to add at what i've already said: if i'm going to an hd7950, for some reason, gigabyte is good or are there better ones?

having over 2GB VRAM isn't that important unless you are running multiple monitors or are playing graphicaly intense open world games where the card needs to draw new textures constantly.

as for a higher clock speed doesn't necessarily mean better as it depends on the cores in the card, you can't really compare two different cards by clock speed unless they are using the same architecture for example an msi 660ti with 900MHz compared to a evga 660ti with 800MHz.The msi would be better as it is more or less the same card but with higher clock but that could not be the case with a 660ti vs a 7950 (that's a really quick simplification but you get what I'm saying..). The best way to compare different cards is by using real life examples like benchmarks. heres one for skyrim ,the extra power may not be needed now but I like to be future proof.

you can still use Physx on non Nvidia cards. All you have to do is download the Physx drivers, it will then use your CPU to render the physx effects instead as non Nvidia cards don't have dedicated Physx chips so as long as your processor is decent it will be fine. I use Physx on high on borderlands 2 and i have an AMD/ATI setup.

The best brand of Radeon cards are either gigabyte, sapphire or asus you can't really go wrong with either one of those, the XFX 7950 Double D Edition is also pretty good and can be overclocked fairly high because of the advanced cooling, I got that one because of the special offer where it came with free games haha.

I hope that answers your questions.

Thanks, you have been very helpful. I think that in the end i will take the ati graphic card, hoping that this time, they make me change my opinion about them :)

If you got the money go Intel, for low budget go AMD.

Great build, I would take the GTX 660 TI over the hd7950 mainly because of drivers and problems with stuff like Micro-stutter, also because NVidia has Physx but thats not TO important.

I have had issues with ATI, so have my friends, I am sure some people have luck with them though...

Microstuttering happens when you have two cards though.

Both of my friends have ATI with single cards and have the issue right now, they both tried everything to fix it, I have looked into it also and just got aggravated. One of them has the 5700 series and I forget the other friends.

If you don't have it thats great, but people have experienced it with single cards, I am not totally knocking AMD, Use to love them...but I went Nvidia because of those issues and the shoddy drivers, they just started to annoy me....

Again I am sure there are many with 0 issues...I have 0 issues with Nvidia, I am sure some people have horror stories about them also, I was just giving my 2 cents since I have had a negative experience as have people I know in person.

Then again, maybe he should get it if it does give best price/performance, he can always return it if he notices anything odd...up to OP.

and when i finally thought to have the answer you opened me another world...I didn't know about micro stuttering but now i've looked for it and i found in some other forums people that had this problem with ati.
Question at people who have an hd 7950: have you ever had this problem or it just depends from card to card?

I think you should get a sapphire radeon hd7950. On the internet it says it comes close to nvidia 670 when o/c , so i think it's good. You can also check reviews of it.

Leave nvidia. Don't forget that it supports physx.
