You should Call EA instead of live chat support. If problem doesnt get solved, you will be moved to tier 2 , where only americans will be there to help you (more experienced) and if they doesnt help you, you will be moved to tier 3, they will give you support by email only.

Calling them is not always a possible solution, for example I cant call them because i dont live in the same country as they and a phone call would cost me exactly the same as a full new game

Pretty sure that's the idea behind "deleted" is that it can't be accessed anymore.

Waiting for:

  • proof that this thread ever existed (invalid doesn't mean anything)
  • proof that this problem was fixed in this thread
  • proof that this thread was deleted "for helping out the people having this problem."

type this link into your google,

try to maintain your eyes open for few minutes

try to understand words on your screen

then with very care( I don`t wanna see you hurt yourself) open few steam forum links( or other one) that lead you to different topics( mostly asking about fixes) containing this link

scroll those threads to see the proof

hide that knife and razor from your table

Google does not have a cache for this link. Which can mean that it never existed in the first place.

..or that it didn't get added to Google's cache.

Already checked Google cache and the wayback machine. Nothin' there. And here you are lecturing me, without doing your own prescribed diligence.

Not that it matters, because even if some threads did turn up, it doesn't address my main point of contention. I'm skeptical that any thread would be deleted "for helping out the people" that are having a problem. It's a silly notion.

Anyways, thanks for the advice.

I have to admit, I didn't think to check Russian sites for this. Unfortunately, I can only see the first page of that thread and lack the language skills to navigate the Russian portion of the webpage. The English links contained do not work.

I'm not seeing anything "a few comments down" that indicates this thread was closed for being helpful. Please excuse my ignorance.

EA has support? That's news to me.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yep, and it's actually a lot better than Steam's support because they actually respond within 5 minutes, unlike my multiple tickets with Steam that have yet to be addressed months later.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

But they reply the same things all over again and again... I think the reference in Far Cry 3 is for them.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Not in my experience. EA support is far superior to Steam's "We'll answer you in a week if we feel like it, it will be a copy/paste response because we never actually read the questions we just spot a couple of keywords and make assumptions" approach to support.

With EA my queries have always been dealt with first time and quickly, either on the phone or via live chat.

Lies. Contacted support like 4 times so far and all of the time they did a great job and replied within 2-3 days.

Plus the copy paste thing is a lie too, you can't copy paste every single subject submitted by users, that makes no sense at all as i'm pretty sure there are lots of unique tickets that require new elaborated replies, like the ones i got for the issues i applied on the tickets. I doubt it was all copy paste, perhaps just the greetings.

I think you're misunderstanding what he means by copy & paste. Now, to cut down on the support budget (or to try and weed out some of the general frequently asked issues/questions), some companies sent out automated replies based on "keywords" included in the ticket. I don't remember if I had this problem with Steam or somewhere else, but it's rather annoying when you have a valid problem that needs support, but your only response is "According to certain keywords in your inquiry, we've determined this [completely irrelevant topic] will solve your issues. If you're still experiencing problems, feel free to call us."

For instance, if you're stuck on a screen and can't quit a game (without task manager intervention), they might only pick up on the "quit" part and give you instructions on how to exit the game. This practice devalues the customer and wastes our time and quickly dwindles my patience with a company.

I understand if people always read through the FAQ, forums, etc, looking for a solution before submitting a ticket this might not be needed. I know not everyone does, but I -do-. I would have tried any resources I can think of to find the solution to the problem (or even what's causing it), but to not even read my issue and send me information about something I'm not asking about gives me the impression that this company, whatever company it may be, has no genuine interest in its consumers.

In my opinion steam support is way better than EA. I always get an answer within 2-5 days, and they help me out.

if you fail to describe your problem in the way people can understand it or just don`t give enough information, they just put the ticket in low priority...

I have already around 10 tickets and almost all of them were responded from 2 to 7 days, except few about customer agreement that took them to respond 2 weeks or so...

My computer is alright. The problem is in the game, the 64 bit OS I'm using is the problem, if I had 32 bit there wouldn't be a problem with the game.

Well I have an AMD-FX 8120, GF 560ti, Windows 7 professional 64 bit.

I yet have no problem running the Crysis64.exe in Crysis Warhead, but the first one doesn't have Crysis64.exe...
The game crashes because the CryRenderD3D9/CryRennderD3D10.dll

I have the latest DX drivers and latest video drivers.

Well you could start by giving more information. Games crash and you talked to an Indian isn't a lot to go on.

ofc valve says talk to EA cuz this problem isnt related to valve. If you buy a game in the supermarked would you expect the exployee of the supermarked to fix your problem?

Oh and you don't know if this thread would have helped just because the guy said it. The other comments on the link were "Not necessary" and "not helpful" and you have no idea what this guy really posted.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

That's a bad analogy since you do complain to a supermarket if you bought a bad product from them, even though they are just a reseller.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

no it isnt, the best thing you might get is a refund. Valve can give you that too. They wont give you support how to make the game work. And to answer the next one too. They can exchange the dvd,but if the problem is your rig and not a broken DVD this wont help a bit. This would be nothing else than Steams verify function

I would expect the employe at the super to exchange my product with working one.

crysis does not work with most 64bit version of windows. on some system it does, on others it doesn't.. fairly odd actually.. i built 2 similar comps, only difference being RAM, and crysis works one, and not the other.. i do use the 64bit launcher to make it work though [you can download from somewhere.. i never play it anymore though.. crysis 2 is better.. except multiplayer with all of its goddamn hackers

works fine on my 64bit win 7. Try useing steam to check for corrupt files. Right click the game and go to properties then local files and click check "verify integrity of game cache

valve support was awesome for always (got i want everytime, etc) but since its a ea game proably valve wont give support and ea sucks

Permalink

Had the same problem, and the solution is to make crisis run with the 32 bit crack... instead of looking for support for old games, trust the internets! google a bit and you will find a fix to make it run in 64bit OS.

If it wasn´t for that i wouldn´t have ever finished this bloody game
