By now the giveaway for the other puzzle (http://www.steamgifts.com/forum/feI05/) has ended, but here we're still going strong!
Like I said the other puzzle is still to be considered active though, just like this one after giveaways will end, until I claim otherwise and post full solutions.

Actually got this one. Still working on the previous though.

Gratz :) Well at this point the other one is purely recreational, you still don't know what's to come in the series, but of course you're welcomed to solve it too. It's what I said there, I really expect nothing else but familiarity with itstoohard features, maybe you'll just come across the feature I used by chance some time during the series if you for some reason can't dig it out just by trying them yourself.

I fancied to reword Q1Q1 slightly due to some fastidious people. Not that it changes anything because it should've been pretty clear what I meant to begin with :3 But hopefully noone gonna poke at it anymore.
Instead of "repeat it 4 times" I used "do it 4 times" and mentioned that you write the digits in order.
It actually doesn't matter how you place the digits (right to left? left to right? any of the other 22 possible orderings?) as long as it's something predetermined and you don't just randomly reorder the digits while writing them down. That would just needlessly complicate things and could've actually been an interesting question on its own, but then I would mention that you write them down in a random fashion, too. But you don't.

XD
"Slightly fastidious". What a droll euphemism for "picky whiner".

It's likely that most interested parties already have seen this and number of solvers is actually pretty strong, but I still feel like bumping every now and then :3 However, this is likely the last bump on my part before the first GA ends, in less than 8 hours at time of this post.

for some reason I can not get question 3 on quiz 3
ok never mind i feel like such an idiot. I new what the answer was from the very beginning just forgot to round.
most of the guesses for that question are from me now

Alllllllllrrrrightie, quizzz numero uno is done, I mean - the giveaway for it. The other 2 GAs are still active.
Later on, after all 3 GAs are done, I'm going to post the itstoohard solution for the first quiz, like I said earlier, to help prospective future solvers of the whole miniseries, but otherwise the puzzle is still active so still no answer sharing etc. Okay? Okay.

I had first lesson of probabilty yesterday at school, but I'm almost done with first quiz (I had combinatorics though). What is more, I have problem with Q7 (and Q8). It seems obvious, but maybe I just don't understand how this site works...
OK, I'm officialy an idiot. I can't round a number. Bump for solved Q1.

Gosh, totally no idea with Q2Q2, last question remaining in Q2. Really, I think I tried everything and there are tons of answers I tried to type there in my Firefox cache. Any advice for probability newbie? :P
BTW these tasks (in Q2) are much harder than the ones from my final high-school exams. That's good! :D

I had the idea to make something like this for a while, since chour's puzzle that had some probability iirc, but it did not feel puzzley enough and I haven't gone around to do it until now. Yeah, even though I put [puzzle] tag in the title, that's mostly just so people looking for puzzles can see it better. Otherwise it's pretty much just a straight up math quiz. I suppose the area may be somewhat puzzling, though, in its own regard: probability/combinatorics.
But since I'm making a miniseries combined for some nicer reward, I figured I may as well go with this math quiz. This is second puzzle in the miniseries. These are otherwise not related and the giveaway on the first one has already ended, but it's still considered active for the grander picture that is to come.
There are 4 quizzes here in total, with 3 giveaways. The quizzes should be progressively harder and rewards hopefully progressively better but still don't count on some godly rewards. If you feel like you're wasting time doing puzzles, just don't do them.
Please don't discuss the solutions even after the giveaways are done. Due to my miniseries this puzzle here will be considered active even after the giveaways have ended. I will probably just link to the itstoohard solution for the first quiz to jumpstart miniseries completionists as it's not meant to be hard anyway, but I don't think any additional hints will be provided for them later on.
Meanwhile, these are the ending times of the three giveaways and required CV values:
Giveaway #1 timer (2014 JAN 09 2000 ZULU) - CV $0.01000 (ENDED)
Giveaway #2 timer (2014 JAN 11 2000 ZULU) - CV $30.02000 (ENDED)
Giveaway #3 timer (2014 JAN 12 2200 ZULU) - CV $3.33000 (ENDED)
Okay, to the quizzes then.
Unless otherwise stated, questions regard giveaway site equivalent to SteamGifts, giveaways for just one copy of the game, and Gregorian calendar.
Always assume you are eligible to enter the giveaways in question i.e. ignore stuff like points or contributor value. Also, the questions are about "raw" probability, there and then, so ignore stuff like people leaving or entering the giveaway before the giveaway ends, or even more obscure possibilities like someone asking for a reroll, people getting banned, meteorites hitting the datacenter so no wins for you... Nope, we're not considering such scenarios. If I say there are 20 entries then each individual person there has 1 in 20 chances to win, simple as that. Although sometimes I paint some more specific scenario so do pay attention.
Always write your answers as a decimal number with 5 digits after decimal point, with leading/trailing zeroes or rounding if necessary. For example, for 1 chance in 6, or 1/6, or 16.66666666...% the answer you'll have to put is
0.16667
Obviously do not cheat or you're risking long suspension: don't ask others for help and do not give help to others, that includes answers, giveaways, itstoohard links etc. It's not a group puzzle, solve it on your own or skip it.

Good luck, have fun!
Giveaways done, but puzzle still to be considered active!
So please keep it spoiler free for now, still. Like I said this is part of miniseries and later on I'll want to make something special for folks who solved all.
For now, let me just expedite a bit possible future solvers who missed this, and provide you itstoohard solution for the first quiz. It was meant to be very easy anyway. But if you have problems with the very last question, come back to it and try to solve it anyway as it contains certain foreshadowin.
Anyway, Quiz 1 itstoohard solution: http://www.itstoohard.com/quiz/wbCenIUg/hW4qN3vV
