I bought mgsV:phantom pain no regret about the game but %30 discount wasn't so great .

Comment has been collapsed.

It is not all about the discount, is about the price.
MGSV was released less than a year ago.
You bought it for 20€, i guess. Not so much discount because they drop the price in May, from 60€ to 30€. If not, the discount would be 66%.
I consider 20€ a good price for that game. Enjoy.

More or less, since the main character was a potato for 9 years.

100% correct. I think if they gave Kojima more time and didn't treat the team like assholes it would have been game of the year. Still a great game though, I just long for the days of MGS3 storytelling.

Why would you refund one? Even if you didn't want to give it away, I'm sure plenty of people would have loved to take it off your hands for glitch price + tip.

@Mike90 which one?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Sanctuary RPG: Black Edition was priced negatively, something like -870% off.
It was possible to add games to the cart and proceed to checkout, if the total was positive.
Some people were able to take advantage of it, and apparently Indie Gala hasn't revoked their keys
(and they can't even do it, as that would be illegal in Italy, where they're based)

Trading cards won't bring back the sales, as far as I know.

Not really, but it would've been nice to get advantage of it, at least for a giveaway (even if it's since been considered bundled)...

I bought Fable Anniversary to create whitelist gib. But silly me I bought it way too early in the sale. The game got bundled after 3 days. I think it was on the edge to be bundled or not. Regrets, no I don't have any, because I really made the winner very happy. I still cry around for my CV.

It was due to the fact the price was low but not really low. I spend 4.85 euro for this one and I still not get why I should be penalized because in Russia this game worthed 1.20 euro durring the sale.

No regrets. None of the games I want had a good enough discount so I didn't buy anything. I was disappointed, even though I expected the sale is going to suck. Good thing I have a backlog of good games so I don't care.

€2.49 (94% off) instead of €9.99 (75% off) in the EU.

I only late about 5 minute.. In last minutes..
I didn't know if that was a glitch..

So, it was on my cart, just check some other games about 3 - 5 minutes and add them to the cart..
When i check them out.. The price back to the normal >_<
Well since i want other game, then i skip them :D
Lesson learned tho

I didn't buy anything except for a giveaway because I was broke. A few days after the sale ended I suddenly sold £470 of paintings. Either fate was looking after my money or I was cheated out of a buying a bunch of cool stuff. I'm currently undecided...

Bought Death Skid Marks, except a few things here and there I was pretty disappointed. And couldn't refund since the 2h mark was passed.
Also the game Pulse was pretty weird and quite buggy, not that bad but I'm still not really sure what I played.

Disappointing Discounts:

  • Stardew Valley (-20%) | Expected since it's new and popular, but I was disappointed nonetheless.. glad it went on sale though.
  • The Culling (-15%) | Also expected, but disappointed me greatly nonetheless. Was looking forward to it. I'll wait for Winter.
  • Don't Starve Together (-35%) | Actually an alright discount, but as someone with a tight budget, it hit me pretty hard.
  • DuckTales Remastered (-67%) | It's actually a pretty nice sale, but for a remake of a game that's nearly three decades old the price tag still placed it low on my priority list.
  • PewDiePie: Legend of the Brofist (-0%) | Did NOT go on sale at all despite coming out last year.
  • STAR WARS™ Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy™ (-0%) | Also a no-sale. Was looking forward to it.

Games I missed:

  • Parkitect - I really, really wanted this game. But it had just been released a month prior and it, obviously and understandably, didn't go on sale, and I couldn't afford it even after I did my best to manage my spending. It just simply wasn't enough.
  • Tropico 5 - I came REALLY, really close to buying this game during the second half of the sale, but I had other priorities and so I decided to skip it for now. Will most likely get it the next time I see it, though - maybe Halloween or the Winter sale.
  • The Sims 3 - One of my biggest dilemmas throughout the entire sale. I really wanted to get it, but the DLCs were too expensive and it's no fun without the DLCs so I chose to skip it. I still want it and I plan to get it during the next sale, but I don't know yet. We'll have to see.
  • The Walking Dead: Season 2 - Those who know me knows that I'm a massive fan of The Walking Dead, so this was easily one of the biggest misses during the sale.
  • Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?!
  • Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
  • Tales From Borderlands
  • Europa Universalis IV
  • Civilization VI

So many games, so little money u.u

Purchases I regret:

  • Cities: Skylines, sorta. It wasn't like.. as amazing as I thought it would be.
Of course it's a good game and all, and I love city-building games, but.. I don't know. Maybe it just hasn't hit me yet.
  • A small Indie-ish games called Egg Returns Home. I thought it was cute and funny at first, but that impression wore off pretty damn quickly and I soon realized that shit came out of the seventh level of hell. Love yourself and never play this game.

Personally I really like it. I don't have a lot of hours yet, but at first I didn't really like it either, until I played it some more. But it can be boring at times, especially in the beginning of a game and later when you can basicly do whatever you want.

Disappointed in Stardew Valley. The game is programmed in a way that it ignores the mouse settings of the operating system, making it very annoying to play with a left-handed mouse or trackball. No work-around in-game either. People have been asking for a fix or at least the option to switch mouse buttons for months, dev has completely ignored it.

I won't refund it because of that, but I was so much looking forward to playing it, it was supposed to be my favourite game of the sale, and now I just feel annoyed. I know I could play with gamepad, or try to set up some workaround with x-mouse or ahk, but I just haven't felt like playing it anymore. I hope it will get fixed in a future patch.

At least I also bought Subnautica (was originally going to decide between them and would have picked Stardew if I had only picked one). Which, of course, I still haven't played yet either (only briefly tested that it handles mouse input correctly) ... Too many games, too little time ;)

Yes, I had a tough time with star dew too with left-handedness... but I did suffer through right handed because I liked it so much.

I'm pretty happy with how the sale went for me. I didn't buy a lot, but I've really enjoyed some of the games I did buy. In particular Grim Dawn and Samurai Warriors 4-2 are both great and I've already sunk a lot of hours in each of them. I also got Grim Dawn in the bundle with a Steam controller and I've been loving that as well.
