It's better that you give away the giftable code instead of the individual keys :)

Then you'd have to give away just the key.

The giftable link sends you to a form where you (or the person receiving it) enters an e-mail and then the key page is sent to that e-mail.

it's against the Humble Bundle TOS to give away individual games from your bundle. And if the giveaway is reported here, mods will remove it. The only giveaway allowed is the full giftable code

But the game code is solely for that game. While the game is from a bundle, its key is only for it. There is one code for a majority of the games and then some of them, like Saints Row, have their own code.

yea, I know, and that's exactly what I'm saying. That single code from one game is, I believe, against SteamGifts' rules. I already had a super long debate about it here so you can read that if you want, because I'm not starting back up with it again in a second thread :-)

Still waiting for a mod response on the subject though...

Ah, I see what you mean. It is against the HB rules but without proper moderation and identifiers showing you where the key is from, be it the bundle or a retail pack or gift there is not much that can be done.

http://www.steamgifts.com/forum/nfAo8/psa-regarding-saints-row-the-third-giveaways

We will not be suspending users or deleting giveaways for submitting Saints Row: The Third.

Users may continue submitting giveaways for Saints Row: The Third, however, if you submit a region-restricted Humble THQ Bundle key that the winner cannot activate, and if you are unable to provide the winner with a working key, you will have to deal with 'Not Received' feedback for that giveaway.

Saints Row: The Third bundle keys purchased prior to 23:00 CET, November 29, 2012, are region-restricted and not activatable in Germany (DE). Keys from bundles purchased after this time are region-free. Region-free keys for bundles purchased prior to this time can be obtained by the purchaser from Humble Bundle support.

It is against the ToS of Humble Bundle, but in their Amnesia Fortnight Bundle they gave away four keys for Brazen with the intentions of you giving them out. Should we be concerned if they tell us to break their own ToS?

That's obviously different. They gave out extra keys with the express intention of sharing them with others. There's no way you can use 4 keys yourself. And apparently, according to Raiden, SG does respect HIB's rules, they just can't manage to enforce them. Which is understandable, since there's no real way to tell if a game is from a bundle or not. And if you look in the Steam group announcement of that topic, they also mention that if someone specifically mentions it's from the HIB, they will remove it. Since there's no other way to be sure it's from the HIB.

Do the one where you buy it for yourself which is not the giftable one. Then they send you the keys and just give them away here.

It's always best to send 1 giftable code of the whole thing so that when there's an issue the winner doesn't have to try and contact the gifter just to clear something up.

Usually when keys are involved the gifter has a higher responsibility to make sure everything goes off without a hitch until the giveaway is over. I once caught a user giving away used hib codes he obtained through trades and would not cooperate to try and remedy the issue saying that the person he traded with is responsible etc.

When this site first started allowing users to giveaway bundles they stated that gift links were the only acceptable way.
If you are giving away only the steam code then you aren't giving people the whole bundle.
If i won a bundle giveaway i would expect to be given a gift link or link for an unclaimed bundle and not just the steam keys (which is only half the bundle).

If you are only giving away a single game then make the giveaway just for that game then people wont be expecting the whole bundle.

Better to always send the link. If ever there's a problem with the bundle the person receiving the gift can contact Humble support directly.

Giftable code is always best. The winner will be able to register the bundle to his email address and will be the sole proprietor of his bundle.
