Beyond ones breaking obvious rules about begging, referrals and scam links, it depends. Off topic is fine, but there is a limit. Just use common sense. Don't make a topic designed to start arguments or post porn. :P

You can make a thread about whatever you want. You are a free man. But some of the threads might get you suspended/banned.

Tl;tr: I wanted to know if there are specific rules covering what kind of threads you can create in this forum.
I joined sg 5 months ago, but I haven't tried the forum until some weeks ago, so I am a kind of newbie here (indeed this is the first time I create a discussion). I wanted to know if there are specific rules covering what kind of threads you can create in this forum. I checked the FAQ section of course, but most rules are about giveaways.
This is because I have just seen how one mod has closed an offtopic thread that consisted in one question and a poll. A silly but innocent question, you know, the kind of thread you create when you are bored. I was trying to reply one of the comments but when I hit the 'submit' button I couldn't because the thread was already closed. I also checked the ToS but I couldn't find a reason for such decision. Ergo, is it at the discretion of the moderator?
Thanks for your attention.
