The thing I always want to know in any GOG sale is:
What games are on GOG that I can't get on Steam or have a better version on GOG?
What games are on GOG that are also on Steam, where GOG has the historical lower pricing (because of packs, etc.)?
For example, the Star Trek pack. Those same games are also on Steam, but they've never been in a traditional bundle. However, because of the sale pack on GOG, the price is way cheaper. It's finding those kinds of deals where GOG beats Steam in some way, either on price or functionality, that I'm looking for.

Most older games have better versions on GOG [as GOG keeps them up to date where possible], and many are only available on GOG. There's exceedingly few newer games that are GOG-exclusive.
GOG usually has higher pricing (imagine that their 75% off is steam's 85% off), but their product quality is better ( drm-free, better support (I mean, actually good, not just 'better than Valve' >.>) & care toward product stability/patching, and music/artwork/etc dlcs are bundled in with the base purchase where possible ).
However, a few games do get lower pricing- Tales of Monkey Island, for example, was 90% off last year- it's only gone to 75% off, on steam.
Past generalities, it's rather hard pointing out where GOG is consistently better- since, unlike steam, sales don't repeat as reliably, and bundles often change contents/labeling/pricing over each event (and aren't guaranteed to show each event).
You could try making a 'Best deals of GOG summer sale 2016' thread and solicit advice for this specific sale, though. :)
(Though yeah, franchise packs on older games tend to be good calls, even where also available on steam. :) )

I think the twitter/facebook badge can be obtained without actually commenting. Try clicking on the buttons for those networks on the Check your Progress page, and close the pop-up window that will appear. Then refresh the Progress page and see if the badge appeared.

Yes indeed, I feared that I would at least need a account and be required to log in, but you're right, that's not the case. So, I guess I can get Spelunky tomorrow if I don't forget to check in. Not really interested in that game though ... would have preferred even 10 cents discount on something else instead. But hey, really shouldn't complain about freebies.

A quick reminder for those interested: you can now actually get Spelunky for free!
If you haven't done so yet, you need to:
When you do the last check-in (16 hours from now), you'll have exactly 5000 XP!

For what it's worth you can buy something cheap to get the extra XP you need if you really want the game. For every $1 USD spent it gives you 1000XP. It should tell you at checkout how much you will get. Anyway, if it helps you can try looking at the deals here to pick something:

I got 5000xp points, enough for Spelunky. I clicked 'Redeem' but i still haven't the game in my account (this was 5 hours ago).
How much time i need to wait until i get the game?
I only have this message: A GAME CODE HAS BEEN SENT TO YOUR EMAIL but i haven't received any mail from GOG

If you didn't already have the game, redeem should have placed it directly into your library.
If you already had the game, then it should have emailed a code to you for gifting.
