Hello everybody,

After i tried to update my graphics card driver, Windows 8 messed up and now it can't restore itself automatically. F8 doesn't work. I can't open BIOS-UEFI, can't boot from W8 disc. I need safe mode actually. Please help me asap, since it's urgent. Thank you.

I don't have a Windows 8 computer, but I found this. Not sure if it's what you need though.

You know... in Windows 8 you have to enable it in settings first... So basicly you have to boot windows, check box in msconfig and reboot again...

You can also try this.

The easiest way with win8 is to have the repair disk on a bootable usb stick. That way you can use the bios to boot to usb, and choose safe mode from there, vs hammering f8/shift+f8? and praying that it takes.

I did try that but it didn't work, so i tried to hammer the whole F keys. I managed t reach the BIOS but Windows 8 disc didn't do anything but asked for me about a new W8 installation. Since i don't have that usb stick... I have to wait until it pops out advanced settings option. What a waste of time. Soon, i'll buy a 64bit copy of Windows 7, this one is pissing me off because of that kind of useless ideas.

Thanks to you as well to spend your time to explain something like others. Much appreciated.

Another method is booting normally, then hit windows-R, the typing msconfig, then do the the os you use and click boot options and there should be a box that says safe mode you can tick. to undo follow the same steps and untick.

Generally i need safe mode such bad scenarios like this. So, when you can't reach the Windows 8 because of some kind of boot-loop; it's unfortunately useless.

Thank you for your time ^__^ Appreciated.

I have windows 8 come pre loaded on my computer, and I just press shift+F8 (You might need to hold the fn key depending on how you have the keyboard set up) to get into advanced recovery slash safe mode area. Or else if you can boot up windows I always open the charms bar, go to settings> Power and press SHIFT while holding restart. Both works for me?

If it loads up the auto repair, select more options, and then click on the advanced settings, it will will reboot, and you will be able to select safe mode

edit: someone already posted http://www.howtogeek.com/107511/how-to-boot-into-safe-mode-on-windows-8-the-easy-way/ the only difference is that you have to select more trouble shooting options or something similar (i do think you already solved it based on your comment to that post though)

log in until the users screen, press and hold shift, then click on restart

Thats it, when it restarts, make sure you select the troubleshoot or something like that. After you will have the option to restart in safe mode.

Windows 8 boots too fast that ill never record the f8 stroke, so they changed how to boot in safe mode.
