Another Xarabas thread whining about him winning something, unoriginal.

Ok folks, let me introduce me to my friend called statistics!

I looked over Mr.Xarabas's winnings and it looks like the VAST MAJORITY of games he won from had less than 20 entries and a lot around 10ish. If you don't win consistently in games with a 1:10 or 1:20 chance, then you've pissed off some very powerful gods.

I think the problem most folks have is that they think of win:entry ratios and not win:(total entries by other people). meaning if I entered 100 contests and won 10, you might flip your lid! That's a 1 in 10 chance! Well, if each of those contests had only 10 people entered into it, then yes, it was only a 1 in 10 chance. If each one of those contests had 1000 entries each, then it means my talents should probably be better spent on running lotto numbers.

What I'm saying is this... the important number comparisons are NOT how many wins to how many contests I entered, but the quality of those entries. An entry into a contest with only 10 other competitors =/= an entry into a contest with 1000 competitors.

This guy is playing a good statistics game! Only entering ones with low amounts of entries, so his win/entry ratio will be much higher than say, someone who only enters big name games with 1000+ entries each. See what I'm saying here?
