Thank you very much, CG. This is a very welcome change. )

Damn, finally. It was really getting on my nerves how so many giveaways were being created for no reason.

Which giveaways are you referring to? A user can post multiple featured giveaways at once, assuming they're for different games.

It was for 59 copies of The Journey Down: Chapter One. But only for 1 hour so it has already ended. I don't know how to check the archives (yet ;))

Thanks, you're right, there was a bug, and it's been corrected. The bug was with how the site was detecting giveaways that overlap. Refer to the below image, where the grey bar represents the timeline of an existing featured giveaway by the user and the coloured bar is the new featured giveaway they're creating. The site was blocking the first three types of overlapping giveaways, but accidentally allowing the last.

Found it: http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/ZGo73/the-journey-down-chapter-one and http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/NgEa7/the-journey-down-chapter-one (was deleted but I saw them simultaneously) From what I understand it was a double click thing that happens so very often and creators have to delete 1 giveaway. So it was probably the server hiccup. But might be abused...

Not sure I see the difference. When I click the drop-down button, I still see a plethora of Ruzh Delta Z giveaways. Or is this because those were created before the change?

The war of Rush Delta Z has finally ended! Perhaps now, we will get 50 copies of a brand new two dollar game! On a non satire note, good update, thanks for it.

It's working as expected. Users can create multiple featured giveaways for the same game, they just can't overlap in the times they're open. The above giveaways are setup to run one after another, and you won't see two of them open at once.

Hi SG, a couple of updates just rolled out to how featured giveaways work on the site. Keep in mind these changes are taking place to future giveaways, and existing featured giveaways will need to run their course over the coming days until the improvements are more apparent.
The Issue
We've noticed developers and users posting multiple featured giveaways for the same game. Our site only displays two featured giveaways by default, and this created some incentive to split up giveaways to cover more ground and space on the homepage. For example, instead of posting a single 200 copy giveaway, posting four 50 copy giveaways made more sense to increase exposure, since there was a greater chance at least one of them would be randomly selected for the top two spots. Also, when a user expanded the featured giveaway list, four giveaways would be more noticeable than one. The downside, we find it's an annoyance to users, and in the above example, they would need to enter four separate giveaways instead of one, while the featured giveaway list is unnecessarily cluttered.
Changes
The site now limits users to one featured giveaway, per game, open at the same time. If you try to post multiple giveaways for 50 or more copies, that overlap in the time frame they're open, you'll receive an error message.
However, since we're now limiting users to a single featured giveaway per game, we want to provide some incentive for posting a greater number of copies. For this reason, the algorithm for the featured giveaway order has changed, and giveaways with a greater number of copies have a higher chance of appearing towards the top. If you refresh the homepage a few times, you'll see this in effect.
