Of the same game. They can make 5x 50 copies of 5 different games.

Love this update. While I already hidden most of the unintresting games, people who are annoyed by the wall of giveaways will see less giveaways, while the devs still can have bigger chance to appear in the two featured giveaway if they make one big giveaway instead of the multiple smaller. Really well done solution :)

Nice, I hope that will reduce the number of "I won two of the same developer giveaways, what do I do?" threads as well.

There are admins who stick to their "rules" like they are set in stone even at the cost of community... and then there's CG who always work to adjust rules and mechanics of SteamGifts to improve the community. GZ man, you are a shining example of hope in a sea of jerks.

I hide all featured games that I'm not interested in playing so it didn't affect me but I'm glad, in the long run this might benefit both devs and users

This is awesome! I am getting tired of seeing multiple giveaways for the same game from the same developer being used just to get votes on Greenlight anyway. I don't see how it's even helping them because now that most everyone has won or blocked giveaways for Rush Delta Z, Overture, Jet Racing Extreme, etc., then subsequent giveaways for the same games aren't doing much to help promote the other games anymore. If they are stuck with too many keys just do one big giveaway and get it over with.

Now we just need to deal with that one certain user who continues to scams/blackmails keys from devs and gives them away here for his own personal gain. This user's giveaways get featured, even though he isn't a dev (I know 50+ copy giveaways get featured by default, dev or not), and I know people get tired of seeing them.

Won't make a difference theyll either just have multiple devs sign up or give the keys to someone else to promote for them. There's already two different featured giveaways for the same game showing on the homepage from different t users.

I would have honestly just forced them to join the karaoke contest but I suppose that is too cruel.

Hi SG, a couple of updates just rolled out to how featured giveaways work on the site. Keep in mind these changes are taking place to future giveaways, and existing featured giveaways will need to run their course over the coming days until the improvements are more apparent.
The Issue
We've noticed developers and users posting multiple featured giveaways for the same game. Our site only displays two featured giveaways by default, and this created some incentive to split up giveaways to cover more ground and space on the homepage. For example, instead of posting a single 200 copy giveaway, posting four 50 copy giveaways made more sense to increase exposure, since there was a greater chance at least one of them would be randomly selected for the top two spots. Also, when a user expanded the featured giveaway list, four giveaways would be more noticeable than one. The downside, we find it's an annoyance to users, and in the above example, they would need to enter four separate giveaways instead of one, while the featured giveaway list is unnecessarily cluttered.
Changes
The site now limits users to one featured giveaway, per game, open at the same time. If you try to post multiple giveaways for 50 or more copies, that overlap in the time frame they're open, you'll receive an error message.
However, since we're now limiting users to a single featured giveaway per game, we want to provide some incentive for posting a greater number of copies. For this reason, the algorithm for the featured giveaway order has changed, and giveaways with a greater number of copies have a higher chance of appearing towards the top. If you refresh the homepage a few times, you'll see this in effect.
