MusicRage delivers packs of albums by lesser-known, independent artists, priced with pay-what-you-like model. The packs of albums are in three main categories: Metal, Electronic (Ambient), Indie. I listened to some sample songs and I must admit that I'm impress by the really high level of product value. When I saw how little they managed to sell of packs, I thought I had to write about it somewhere,

All albums in Music Rage packs are offered as DRM-free downloads in both lossless FLAC and high-quality MP3. Good music requires good quality.

inb4 pirated
Most people nowadays, at least as far as I know, don't buy music albums as much as they used to. Why buy when you can pirate them.

Pirating is mostly done because it is convenient and cheap. If there was place like Steam for music (iTunes doesn't count, they're jews) then people would buy music much more often.

"iTunes doesn't count, they're jews"

Let me get this straight. So you don't have an issue with the policies of iTunes, their services, their use of DRM, their regional restrictions, their artist fees and the artist sign-up process that they impose, or any of that stuff; the reason iTunes doesn't count for you is because they're jews? Is that correct?

I love how Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails are basically the only two popular artists to ever have a PWYW online sale for some of their albums, the rest are underground or independent artists. Might be wrong though, maybe there are some more high-profile musicians who aren't only in for it for the money.

If you guys like an underground artist, or someone you don't hear a tad lot about, I suggest checking out their bandcamp page first. They have usually some free stuff there, besides some PWYW albums that are PWYW forever, and most of these have a minimum amount of $0 to them, meaning you can get them for free. My current favourite band, Nadja, has a load of free albums on, even some of their best ones like Corrasion. And the funny thing is? While the rest are commercial download products, you can freaking listen ot them all you fucking want for free on the site.

Go and pay some tribute to your favourites there too, they deserve it way more than the mainstream whores that get a shitload of it anyway, with all due respect for those who genuinely aren't doing it for the money and nothing else.

Many of independent artists create a more professional and with more product value then most of the mainstream artists. Great site is Jamendo, where artists spread music for free :)
