Some guy won a key I decided to give away and either sold it or traded it for something else. I know the key was redeemed because it now gets hidden when I check "Hide redeemed keys" on my humblebundle keys page. I noticed that he owned the game already so I became a little suspicious. So I made a support ticket and it was closed with no response from the person that closed it. Now I'm stuck with some red check mark on my profile like I'm some fucking peasant who makes fake giveaways.

Since staff wont handle it here is the person who did it: been advised to remove profile so I will but still fuck this guy

Blacklist or risk giving your key to a scumbag.

Calling out is not allowed, remove the URL to the guy before mod sees it and you get suspended.

Have you tried sending "request received feedback" ticket on your giveaway? If support didn't leave any response, then you most likely sent user ticket instead, those aren't receiving a response.

No calling out so better to remove that profile. Also a lesson, that's what you get for doing level 0 giveaways, bots and scammers.

just trying to give away shit I have no use for to people who might be less fortunate. will be done with level 0 giveaways in the future. all together if the staff don't handle this.

They will change the feedback in cases like this, no worries. It's quite clear when they already own the game.

Never make level 0 giveaways. They shouldn't even be a thing.

You should remove the user. You might get banned for that. Calling out is against the rules.
Sorry.. for you.

you should remove the profil since calling out is against the rule

for future giveaway you should check if people already have this game or not. Or make invite only to remove some of the bot .

I was under the impression that you couldn't join giveaways if you owned the game already so I didn't even bother to check this. Turns out he had the regular version of Dead Island and my give away was for the definitive edition.

Yea there are lots of games you can enter for even if you own them (as well as basically all DLC).

this does not work for dlc, game packs, or removed games, seems it happens to new games now when steam is "learning about this game"

this is one of the reasons i'll do atlest level 1 giveaways. if you can't give 1 game you don't need to win.

With the given information it's still pretty easy to find him
did he told you why it is marked at not received?

then try to talk with him

If you are actually American and this is about Dead Island, then there is a 99.99% chance he could not activate it. Deep Silver uses an NA lock and if you try to activate a key from an American in Europe, you get a region-restriction message. Humble even states rather clearly when generating the gift link that it is a non-EU key.

I didn't generate a gift link I just provided they key.

Then:
a) Why do you generate keys to gift away when there is a gifting system there for a reason?
b) Even the associated topic states the region lock. So does SteamDB. If you do not look up key region locks, then do not blame your winner for not being able to use the key. Talk with him instead.

By generating the key, you marked it as "redeemed" yourself. Redeemed doesn't mean activated.

Wrong. You gave away Dead Island Definitive Edition and he owns Dead Island. Not the same game.

There is, unfortunately, no way to know if a key has been used unless you try using it yourself, if you don't already own the game (which would of course consume it in the process). The "hide redeemed keys" function just hides keys that you revealed but provide no indication as to whether or not they were actually used. Thanks Valve :/

We'd like to avoid witch hunts and it's really identify the user, so I'll close the thread.

Comments are disabled on user reports, so if you have an issue with a giveaway you created, there are more appropriate categories to use, like a feedback or deletion request.
You can try to contact the winner as well to see what happened. He doesn't actually own the game, just the older version of it so there's probably some other issue.
