"Once you have purchased any Switch title from QubicGames on your Nintendo Account, you will be able to download Robonauts from the eShop for free. You have until December 15th to download Robonauts, and once you do, it’ll set off a chain reaction that will make every subsequent game free to download as well.

Starting on December 16th, you’ll have 24 hours to download the next game before the promotion on that game ends and a new game goes free. If you miss any free downloads during the event, you won’t be able to get any subsequent free games. So you have to stay on top of this if you want all ten games.

Here’s a list of all the games and the dates on which they’ll be free:

December 10th – 15th: Robonauts
December 16th: Geki Yaba Runner
December 17th: Puzzle Book
December 18th: One Strike
December 19th: Wreckin’ Ball Adventure
December 20th: Koloro
December 21st: #RaceDieRun
December 22nd: REKT! High Octane Stunts
December 23rd: Mana Spark
December 24th: Mystery Game TBA"

this is pretty epic. It should still work if you already own robonauts.

Since today is the 16th and I don't own robonauts, does it work if you buy the daily freebie or it's too late?

+1

EDIT: I have just realized I have one of their games, Akane, and neither Robonauts or Geki Yaiba Runner are free, I guess this was posted too late then.

For what it's worth Nintendo has never been one to put much built-in storage in their systems so I doubt it.

Well look at the Wii U. It had only 8GB of internal memory for the basic model and only 32GB for the deluxe. Granted digital distribution didn't have as much traction then as it does today but still. Those were paltry numbers even for that time. Then there was the 3DS... and while the file sizes were smaller just by virtue of lower resolutions and it being a dedicated handheld it only came with a measly 4GB SD card, which if you got something like Resident Evil Revelations it took up like 75% of that. Also if you look at Nintendo's history they haven't really done a traditional console since the GameCube and have always seemed to go off in their own direction when it comes to storage, arguably to their detriment. They insisted on sticking with cartridges with the N64 instead of embracing significantly cheaper optical media that had much more storage space that developers wanted (at the cost of loading times of course) and it made some games cost more than they do today. And then when they finally did adopt optical media with the GameCube they used a mini disc instead of a full-sized one. As much as I have been a fan of Nintendo's franchises over the years you have to admit that as it pertains to storage in particular they have made some rather questionable decisions and don't generally give us the kind of space and flexibility that the dedicated gamers among us would probably want.

Thanks! I missed the Robonauts promo, but I bought it in the past for a few gold Nintendo coins when it was 95% off, and it let me get Geki Yaba Runner for free.
