[FREE] The Slaughtering Grounds (ended)

AFAIK it's because their games use stock resources (going as far as having almost identical games in GL) and the quality of said games are beyond bad.

The developer made a terrible game (the one that's given away here), got slammed by critics and started issuing takedown claims on one particular critics videos, threatening with legal actions and all that stuff, after having made a video mocking him.

Then they made more games. Lots of games actually, all of which were terrible. They did not bother actually spending any time on their games, their 2-person team just started flooding the steam store with garbage.

After a little while people started realizing just how little this developer actually cared about quality in their games, and I guess sales dropped. So the developer started using several other names for their studio, and released games under those names, thus trying to mask who they really were. The pace of their garbage production went up (or at least their release pace). One of their names that they released 2 of their games under turned out to be of another development studio, who were really unhappy with seeing their name getting used to sell garbage, and ended up threatening to take legal action against them. At the same time that this happened, Digital Homicide made their own bundle site, offering games from several different developers. Turned out that all of those developers were them, they just tried to hide it (and they did a really poor job at it. I did a bit of digging myself around this time, and could find evidence of most of those were them, before they went public with it).

So DigiHom is really shady, tries to silence criticism of their games, tries to deceive their customers and don't care about the quality of their games, they just want to release as many games as possible, in the hope that someone will buy them (a strategy that seem to have worked).
