I haven't been so annoyed in a while. Two winners in a row just messaged me/posted simultaneously questioning why I hadn't sent them their gifts yet. One ended 14 hours ago, the other ended a bit earlier yesterday. Well, at least I get to spite one of them because he traded away one of his wins... I hope level 6 is enough to keep those kinds of people away.

That's what you get for giving strangers on internet freebies. xD

I had people adding me first, before I added them, but thankfully that was it. They didn't say anything but I could feel how they itched to ask for their gift.

As for your situation, BLACKLIST ALL THE WAAAAAY!

That also make up another question, since we can choose when the giveway end, why do people Don't let their giveaway end at a moment where they will be sure they can send the gift ? (emergency apart of course)

Don't try to reason with the internet... It doesn't work

First guy I added on Steam immediately after giveaway ended. He didn't accept friend request until the next day (understandable since he's on the other side of the world). First thing he messages me was accusing me of not sending the gift....

Second one, I wasn't home due to being out with a couple of friends from across the state, didn't know that we would be out so long. That might have been a joke post, but I was annoyed enough with the first person that I might have taken it the wrong way.

I didn't blacklist either person. I'd like to keep that for more serious offenses.

Most giveaway creators do that but there is a high chance of the winner not being online at the time

My giveaways end when I expect I will have free time to send gifts. However this is not a high priority, ie I'll not leave my niece birthday party before end just because ga has ended.

It's a sad state of affairs, and why it is often not worth doing unrestricted public giveaways.

I would blacklist them so it doesn't happen again with the same person.

That's awful.

People are awful.

There should be a giveaway filter that excludes people from entering.

Not sure what is worse: the people who whine about not getting their game instantly, or the people doing the givaways spewing a lot of insults and random crap...

(Not particulary aimed at OP)

Level 8 is the way to go. No ulterior motives in suggesting this CL ... of course not.

Been there, seen that. Funny thing, all quick adders didn't read faq/rules and most of them did not acitveate or regifted previous wins :(

As I recall, the rule of SG is not to contact the creator before 7 days.
Most of my GAs are for my gaming group, so I have no problem if they added me, it's a good way to make contact.
But for public GA? I would appreciate it if you added me to say thanks, or just write it on my Steam profile. But added me one minute after you won the game and pestering me (some even forget to say thanks) will guarantee you a place in my blacklist.

The bane of public giveaways: manners. I keep wondering why people are so easily rude to others when chosen medium is text based. Perhaps our communication skills merely do not work as well when face or voice is not present. Nonetheless, certain level of civilicity should be expected and encouraged.

Uh I mean the giveaway that's still running. That one that ended 5 days ago is still under reroll request since the winner traded away one of his winnings.

oh...I did not know that. din't read previous comments..
that's why lately you have been giving away games in discussion with numbered discussions..to weed out most..good idea.

Thanks heaps for Sniper Elite 3!

Just for the record, several entire minutes had elapsed after the giveaway closed, and I was beginning to run out of patience with the slow delivery, but then I realised that in this brave new world of Steamgifts V2, the key was already on my "wins" page... Much obliged, kind sir :)
