Region restriction on humble bundle games, particularly the civilization games

some games in humble bundle are region locked and when you try generating a gift link it will warn you that a product can only be activated in a certain region or regions.

Is there also a warning about region restrictions when you take a key instead of a gift link? I bought this bundle and created a GA for CIV IV a few days ago. The winner is from SEA region and can´t redeem the key because it is region locked to EU as it turned out. But i didn´t notice any warnings about this problem while purchasing, reading the e-mail or the homepage were you can get the keys/gift links. HB support told me that region restrictions are listed in the full system requirements. Since the bundle is over i can´t check them anymore to see if they are really there. I wish they could just simply add a warning tag on games with restrictions. The full system requirements are lets say hidden at the bottom of the page and you don´t think about opening them for 10 year old games like CIV 3+4 if you think there are just about hardware performance. Now i´m only using links and avoid keys. It was the first time i had problems with region restrictions from HB games and so far i was unaware of this whole topic.

Can´t help you with your question about CIV 3. Maybe you could check steam database if there are differnt version of the game. But i would not take this information as proof more like a hint. Asking HB support would be the safe choice i guess.
