We're testing a new system for polls on the site, and we're kicking it off with GOTY 2012. With the help of a few people on Steam chat, we tossed together a rough list, but let us know if you have any suggestions below. The poll will begin in roughly 20 minutes.

Where is Max Payne 3, Binary Domain and Darkness 2? It is really good games and deserves to be in list.

This list is going on the front page it can only be so big. I helped contribute and the original list actually had max payne 3 and binary domain, but was reduced as to not clog up a whole lot of space. The original formatting took up the entire page with 9 games, and the list was up to 24~ games.

Binary fucking Domain! Easily my fav. The most fun I had with a video game in 2012. That and Darkness 2 are the game that has stuck with me the most.

I heard Natural Selection 2 is quite good. I plan to play it tomorrow, as I won it today. My friend and a few of his buddies enjoy it though.

Sweet, polls would make doing votes on what to make a giveaway of or those "what should I play/what is better" threads a lot more organized and easy to set up. Nice idea. But like people suggested already, clickies to the store pages would be very convenient. ^_^

Hmm, I haven't exactly played many of them and my personal GOTY is kinda hardly known off(and obviously not on the list :P ), but from the 2 I've played- The Walking Dead and Awesomenauts, Awesomenauts definitely gets my vote. :D

Awesomenauts is an extremely good game. It's the only moba game worth playing.
Matches are shorter, leavers are replaced with bots so you don't get an instant loss, it's also just plain fun.

It's IS a GOTY. The game has more support/free updates than most games on steam, it's a fun, quick and balanced moba game and I hate the genre.
I have tons of fun with it, and I while I tried NS2, it didn't got me hooked.

Keep your opinions to yourself next time.

Katawa Shoujo is a game that really need to be up there, but as its only steam games I'll just stick with my ETS 2

I don't get why people are so adamant about calling it a game. I love KS, don't get my wrong, but it's really just a visual novel with a few arcs to choose from based on minimal interaction. You get more story variance with a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure book.

I've played all but Walking Dead, Scribblenauts, Mark of the Ninja, and Euro Truck Simulator. Awesomenauts gets my vote.

don't see those big 3 titles up there. max payne 3, assassin creed 3 or far cry 3. but i'll probably vote on walking dead anyway, since dota2 not been released yet. great new feat this, hehe.

I think endless scrolling is broken in this thread. Same thing happened to me after we got to page 2, but disabling it lets you go back to the first page (obviously only if you're using SG+ addon)

Looks like we can remove and change our votes easily... I guess that needs fixing. You probably removed your vote or clicked another game after that which changed it.

Adding another suggestion: for games that only get one vote as seen here make the bar at least show a tiny sliver of colour, to differentiate from those that get none.
