for me, I dun mind being at 50 points as most of the games on steamgifts are going at full price rather than promotional prices.... It would not be fair for giveaway creator of Darkness II if we reduce the points as his contribution would be reduced also...
Besides, it is fun to manage which giveaways to enter when there are so many giveaways.... =))

I dont like that idea.
There are so many games with high points that are very often on sale e.g. Deus Ex HR, Mount & Blade, SR3 and so on. The points of them had to be reduced them, too. This would make everything much more difficult!
The point system is fine as it is.

I love threads like this. if it's been on sale that often...why didn't you buy it? since you're obviously worried about points cost, so you're entering giveaways for it.

I have no idea what this topic is about and i don't care, i would just like to take a moment and reconsider why we have to dedicate a shark week to them since it will never make up for the fact that they don't have buttcheeks

Nawh,
You'd get less points when the giveaways were made and it would balance out, if everything was set to sale price, you'd get 75% less points and it would just even out

Can I just say that this is a very good point. The point value of a game does influence the point distribution. I can definitely see why the frequency of sales, etc., would affect the value one puts on a game, but if you lower the point value based on sales on a whole, then those who weren't strategic and getting the game on sale get cheated out of the game's value.
On a similar note: I get why the bundle points are so low, but I think the bundle vs. individual game points are wonky. I know they reviewed this not too long ago, but maybe that's the point: your chances of winning a bundle are affected by the popularity of the games -in- the bundle whereas if you separate the bundle (I don't think you're -supposed- to do this, though), you spend more points for the possibility of a better chance to win. Maybe that's the trade-off, but one that isn't present in the sales situations.

Would influence heavy giveaway enterers. For me I'd probably still sit at 300 points 99% of the time.

I mean, 50 points each entry eats up your points pretty fast, especially if you're entering multiple giveaways at once, I'm sure some of you agree.
Edit: Listen to some music, find the source of your problems and eliminate them.
