Im not obliged to care about people i dont know
There's a difference between caring about someone you don't know, and offering human sympathy for an SG acquaintance. Or, you know, not saying anything at all.
As you say, death is a part of all of our lives. It's best to act accordingly.

So you are steadfast in standing by the comments that you just deleted?

He is using a completely unrelated argument to try and strenghten his comment here , which is literally retarded , so i just told him what i think about it .
No, it demonstrates the sort of person you are; rather, we have actually communicated on here before and I've even tried to be nice to you, helpful, and frankly refrained from replying to things you have posted in the way you replied above. I just reached my limit with you.
I mean ... i have cancer and i may be dead tomorrow ,
If that is true then you have my sympathies. I can offer no prayers since I don't live in a world of fairy tales and rainbows and am, therefore, quite unconvinced there is anything to hear said prayers.

Since i dont want to start a drama here , i followed an advice from someone i learned to respect over the couple years here and got rid of my comments .
Here is what i have to say .
I am cancerous piece of shit in general , thats a fact many people here found out over that time .
And i do think i may have used some wording , due to my poor English at times , that may seem far to offensive . Its not what i was trying to do ... start a flame war or anything .
Its sux that people die , far to many people i know did ... but you cannot expect everyone to show you simphaty about the matter .
Yeah i entered your giveaway and didnt show my condolences about your late uncle , fuck me right . But then again dozens of other peopel did ... yet you pick in on , on me .
Im in a shitty situation myself , dont wana use it as an excuse , thats why only a few people actually know about that .... but thats why i didnt feel obliged to show any about a person i dont know either ....Anyway Rant is over , please respond once you read that in any form so i can delete it and aboid any furtur drama .

Yeah you are actually retarded mate .
You are one of those people who feel obliged to jump on stuff completely unrelated to them and make shitty remarks .

That falls a bit too much into "turning our community into a pay-to-win site".

The other is paying to get access to more giveaways.
To me it is like people paying for a game on kickstarter; backers who pay more get extra in-game goodies or characters or what have you. Personally I doubt I would donate more than a few shekels because I can barely afford the humble monthly right now and soon will be cancelling my subscription, but I am sure there are people with both the means and the interest to donate more. I see no harm in those people having access to rarer giveaways. It's the same as people in high-value GA groups on here, to me.
(It's moot since according to patreon rules one cannot offer a raffle as a reward, which giveaways certainly are.)

But it will be another addition to the endless sgtools filters.

I'm happy to donate money to the site one way or another, even directly if that's convenient. Would prefer not to have to create a Patreon account. Don't need any rewards, as long as you don't mind me using AdBlock. :P

In fact, if you go the icon or profile color route, please make it optional. I don't want any of that stuff if I donate.

Additional Statistics is something that should be available for everyone, though.

Do you think users should also be able to disable this icon if they wish to donate anonymously?
i think the majority will be donating specifically for that icon, however i'm sure there still would be some that would prefer to remain anonymous. so it probably would be a good idea.
i can't come up with any suggestions though myself, i'm just not creative enough.

How about the ability to change username more often in a year? xD

Will donators be able to post gleam.io giveaway links? Broken rules remains broken, even if you ignore them.
Comment has been collapsed.
I think this could be an interesting development, especially in regards to supporting the site. Maybe donators could be allowed to change their name potentially more than the normal once per year (without a support ticket),? Other than that, keeping it simple may be best to keep it as a strictly voluntary action. Donator tier icons could be a thing, but some people may not like that (some people could use it to brag or put down others).
And yes, the option to donate anonymously would be nice.

I'm taking inspiration from other Patreon creators I'm following:
And yeah, I think users should have the option to donate anonymously.

How about the option for a different avatar than your steam one.

Scrap.tf offers to donors the option to put a gif as a profile picture instead of a picture. ;P

Something to do with avatar like custom one or GIF avatar is nice.
Take Dota 2 Battle Pass for example. Battle Pass buyer will have color edge around his profile picture and indicator what level he is at. Maybe add the custom message/patreon tier on donator profile page similar to Steam custom profile holiday sale auction.

Hahaha, I hope you're joking.
They're volunteering their time, the Support Staff doesn't get paid.
Although they could use some of the Patreon support (if any) to hire a full time Support Member who answers tickets in a timely manner.
If ever a job like that were to happen, I'd be awesome for it.
Comment has been collapsed.
Anyone would want to be support due to it being paid. It would almost be better to use in house support as it is. From there, they could do shifts and be paid on a per ticket basis. Some of the tickets are already automated for the more simple things.
Comment has been collapsed.
I have a 3 week old ticket that still hasn't been answered, I'd really like paid support users.
I found a user who is possibly using multiple accounts or exploiting the site like others have in the past.
Comment has been collapsed.
I wouldn't change the priority of support for anything that's currently being handled (e.g. rerolls), but it would be nice to be able to get responses for tickets that are in categories that don't get attention (e.g. Support\Other). I have a ticket with this simple question open for 7 months:
Is it ok to use follx.com for giving games that can't be given on SG?
I want to give games that were given as free before and SG doesn't support it. Is it ok to use follx.com invite-only GAs for this and post the link on SG?
Thanks!
It would be great if donors would get such tickets answered :-)

Then that'd fall under pay-to-play (wherein content or features are locked behind a paywall) rather than pay-to-win (where a noticeable competitive advantage is derived from payments). Either approach is going to limit basic user features, in favor of.. well, SG Premium (which apparently is no longer a joke).
If you meant answered faster, I suppose that pushes it back to pay-to-win (depending on your perspective of what that should cover)- but I'm not sure complaining over lack of prioritization is really worth much concern unless it noticeably hinders reply to non-premium support tickets, so the labeling may not especially matter.

You're just being annoying, that's all. This is suggestion thread, if you just want to argue bring it up elsewhere as this thread isn't for that. And BL isn't meant to stop you from entering my GA, it's none to begin with. It's for different purpose.

Given the amount of drama that already goes on here with people thinking that some are better than others, I think it would be best to not have any status symbol associated with donating. I don't really have money to donate, but if I did, I wouldn't want a symbol next to my name flaunting it.
Edit: It really doesn't matter to me though because I don't get involved in the drama and having a symbol next to the users names will definitely make the site more money. There is a large number of people that will send money not because they want to help the site, but because they "need" that symbol next to their name.

He has gone on record before stating that the site hardly makes any money, anything leftover is typically used for giveaways. Cg runs the site as a hobby.

Why, exactly? Yes the population is a bit larger, but a significant portion use AdBlock. Beyond referral links, I'm not sure where you believe this extra revenue is coming from.

🚽 Aren't the emojis enough? 💩
Comment has been collapsed.
Emojia you posted can be used by anyone, I meant having 5-10 unique emojis incorporated into forum formatting which could be used by patrons only. Have them unique and SG-themed like spacecat emoji for example, but most important have a set of emojis unique to patrons.

One most requested feature on the site that might be worth looking into if people pay for it:
Finding out who blacklisted you, so you can ask them why.
Comment has been collapsed.
I recently had a user add me on Steam and calmly asked about me blacklisting him. We had a pretty lengthy discussion at the end of which I unblacklisted him.
So it does work if you just ask.

But if you talk to them, you can try to change them for the better.

Isn't the site already segregated and elitist enough without having paid giveaways?
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm not encouraging it, but if we go with the general "just be a patron" requirement you can throw a buck there, or buy a bundle with shovelware from IG and make giveaways so people will farm the cards. At least the first one makes the site function, while the second one has no value for the games - it's like CV for cards. From the giver's side they are paying to get better stuff at the site, it would be naive to ignore levels when it comes to paying money to get more out of the site.
But just to be clear: I hope there will be no options to make giveaways for patrons, and SGTools won't involve patron state or levels. Maybe, MAYBE if there's such a surplus money, then CG-made giveaways, but in a 4 community-1patron ratio (same quality) - zero, or the least possible financial gain for patrons.
Comment has been collapsed.
But do you not worry about the site not being about gifting as much and more about just giving money to the site itself.
A lot of people will probably opt for the Patreon giveaways and not just buy the $1 bundles to give away anymore.
If I were to give to Patreon, even if it was just a $1 tier (which I doubt, probably more like $5), then I wouldn't give as much. It's just a fact, but that's only me. I don't have the disposable income for both and so it's one or the other and selfishly I'd choose the option that'd give me a higher chance to get a "return on investment".
Comment has been collapsed.

why? cg said there will be no advantages like you are thinking of.
I would like to exclude any rewards that would give users an unfair advantage, such as a higher chance of winning, or more points.
what "return on investment" could you possibly be talking about if users don't get an unfair advantage?
Comment has been collapsed.
Plus Patreon already has a no gambling rule, you're not really allowed to do random giveaways. So I mean there's that.
Comment has been collapsed.
Interesting. Had to look it up:
Can I Offer A Raffle As Part Of A Reward Tier?
We love surprises. But unfortunately we don't allow reward tiers that involve raffles, giveaways, or "chances-to-win." The reason for this is to better protect the patron community as well as to make sure we are in accordance with state gambling laws.

aye, I'm a creator so I read the FAQ ages ago, just thought I'd throw my two cents in before people got worked up about there maybe being a giveaway or something of the sort.

...This whole comment chain was that...
Veebles suggested Patreons as a "who can enter" filter, which he later crossed out.
Adam1224 drew parallels between the CV system and the hypothetical Patreon system.
I gave him a reason why they're not equal and why a system like this would be bad.
I have literally no clue why you're saying what you're saying.
CG said that there won't be advantages, meaning that there won't be a "Patreon only requirement" for giveaways.
I'm talking about a hypothetical, like Adam1224 did.

oh, i misread that last sentence about return investment.
but i'm still genuinely just not following what you mean on this sentence>
"A lot of people will probably opt for the Patreon giveaways and not just buy the $1 bundles to give away anymore."
why would people go with the non-advantageous route over the advantageous one?
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, if you had the two options:
...then I'd guess that more people would choose the easier route. I, personally, would have to give a total of $1000 worth of games away to get access to more giveaways (to get to level 8, to be precise).
If I gave a flat $5 or whatever it'd be per month, I'd be getting access to those "Patreon only" giveaways.
I wouldn't have to contribute the $100 minimum (if the Humble Monthlies would have the same value as the XCOM one).
More giveaways means more possible wins. That's what I meant. Hopefully I managed to be more clear than the weather in that Silent Hill town. :D

yes, but whether you see them or not they are still loading. patreon ad removal will remove them before they even get to you, so loadtimes would be slightly faster, and performance also slightly better. adblockers still attempt to load all those requests but blocks it, so there's some extra work and loading done there.
Comment has been collapsed.
as explained below it would not really create more server load than scripts that alkready exist and which load every page full to scrap a little data. Also while I am all in for having fun/cosmetic rewards for patreons, things that affect site functionality (especially ones that affect it in a massive way) should be accessible to all users not just premium members. HAving access to API would mean posisbility of having much much better scripts/addons, much faster, less buggy, giving much more options. Having small number of paying community having access to these awesome things while denying them from all other users would be very unfair and would deeply divide community. In time probably all useful scripts would rely on API, thus if you wanted to have a better SG experience like you are having now using all your great scripts you'd have to pay, which is a big no-no.

Hey everyone, a Patreon campaign for SG is in development, which will also allow users to link their Patreon account to our site to redeem rewards. A lot of the code is already up and running for early testing, and ideally it'll be ready to go live in June or July. The difficult part right now is coming up with rewards, which is why I wanted to reach out for suggestions.
We obviously do not want to turn our community into a pay-to-win site, so I would like to exclude any rewards that would give users an unfair advantage, such as a higher chance of winning, or more points. On the list of user rewards so far we have...
Other suggestions that have come up...
Thanks for ideas!
