First of all don't post the username, that's against the rules of the site, you can get banned.
Second... I don't trade games so I think the only thing you can do is give him negative feedback/reputation and nothing more :[

I get why it might seem like that, but the thing with that is that those impersonators always make sure to never have logged into SG so there's nothing mods could do about it even if we had more then 1 mod handing the trading part of SG, I think that out of the couple of dozen impersonators i've had myself/ encountered at most 1 was dumb enough to ever have logged into SG.
The number of actual scams where both the victim and the scammer both actively use SG is really low in my experience, it happens but that's mostly just hijacked accounts from high rep traders, or kids who after failing to get what they want out of trading resort to using the rep they gained to scam a few people before being permabanned, so really incidental unlike impersonation scams.

From the Guidelines: "Use the appropriate avenues for support. If you have an issue with another user, submit a ticket with a user report, rather than calling them out within the community or on the forum."
Also don't write only in uppercase. It's like you are yelling with us. You'd need to contact Support if really that's the case, but I doubt that a highly reputable meber of the SG community scammed you. First of all: You added him or he added you? Because if "he" added you it may happen that you ran into an impersonator. If you have proof, then create a ticket for the support. If you don't edit your post deleting his name, then you might end up suspended from the site for a few days.

Also before accusing that guy of scam and giving him negative rep, like you did, did you even check that it was not an impersonator that looked like him? Because The guy you said has a lot of rep....
also if you search his name here http://steamcommunity.com/ there is 2 ppl with same names, with same avatar, so you just traded with an impersonator and gave negative rep and accused of scam a honest guy, who is the real guy.

The guy has a lot of positive feedback, looks like you got tricked by an impersonator who pretended he was him. Remove his username quickly.

Hello everyone,
just a heads up, but from a different user of this site today I've heard of a different incident related to the same username. However the said username (at least in that said case I've heard of) was innocent and not to blame for the problem as he had an impersonator. Impersonator had a totally different Steamgifts username and already a negative feedback, his Steam profile had a fake name and a fake avatar to resemble the profile of a trader with good rep he tried to impersonate.
Just something to think about before you jump into conclusions and give a potentially innocent person -rep!

REMOVE HIS FUCKING USERNAME FROM YOUR THREAD, ALSO LOOK AT YOUR TRADE HISTORY, I'M PRETTY SURE YOU TRADED WITH SOMEONE ELSE
Comment has been collapsed.
BECAUSE THAT LOOKS A LOT LIKE HOW SCAMMERS OPERATE AND YOU DON'T SEEM LIKE THE BRIGHTEST BULB IN THE PICKLE JAR
NOW FIND THE REAL GUY BY LOOKING AT YOUR TRADE HISTORY AND REMOVE THE IMPERSONATED USERNAME FROM HERE
Also please let's stop the all caps madness.

How about you start reading the tons of comments telling you that WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS WRONG AND WILL GET YOU A (DESERVED) BAN.
We don't care what you think since you clearly have no idea what you're talking about, you're breaking the rules and as if that isn't bad enough you're ruining someone's good name simply because you can't be bothered to check who added you before accepting.
Remove the name, you're publicly shaming the wrong person and everyone knows it.

look at this http://i.imgur.com/OAuLYla.png and stop accusing members, because calling out is against rules.

Yeah, he doesn't have many life experience, and he can't be bothered with logical explanations of his issue. We'd like to help him, but if he can't understand two simple things, we can't. First: Calling out is still punishable, and he will be suspended for a few days if he get caught. Second: He traded with an impersonator. It's clearer than sunlight itself, but he just can't be bothered with logical explanations. That's sad :/

For f**k's sake are you retarded ? A lot of people already told you to remove his name, and why would you think it wasn't an impersonator, the guy has 496 positive feedback and hadn't any negative until you came along, why would he start suddenly scamming people ? The real problem is that you're too dumb to tell an impersonator from a real trader, which is actually very easy to do.
Comment has been collapsed.
I assume the guy told you "look I have a lot of rep" and provided you with a link. That's NOT how you check someone's trade reputation.
You should have checked yourself instead of following the link.

Since that guy has at least one impersonator, I guess you are blaming the wrong person.

A username called BlueRaja added me and he was level 3, it was an impersonator.

Fun fact, you've been scammed by the same guy I was scammed. Remember to ask for their sg profile, and then also check their steam profile linked to the sg profile. If they're different, they're trying to scam you. Also, the person that scammed this guy has scammed multiple people over the last few days, and I see no actions being taken by anyone. Dissapointing.

He seemed legitimate, and the trade was fair. He offered GRID, I offered a few bundle games. Either way, his only 'catch' was Gumboy Tournament, a worthless game that I had no intention to use anyway. Deleted me after he got my key, I assume he thought it was worth much more.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well looking at that game on Steam it says 1.99eur, so it's not totally worthless and if anything he could probably sell it for little money somewhere.
Comment has been collapsed.
Perhaps some person who does not really know any other way than Steam to buy the game? He could earn some money by that way, technically scamming them as well if the game really can be obtained through cheaper ways.
Comment has been collapsed.
What can be done? That user isn't even registered on SG and Steam doesn't care.
Comment has been collapsed.
Ah, I was looking at the other impersonator.
EDIT: and yes, better remove that link, it'll just get you in trouble.

"I don't want to hear calling out bullshit" - It's a rule, a rule that EVERYBODY must obey. If not, the mods have the right to take actions, like suspending or banning you. You are risking your SG profile with your line here, I'd quickly edit it while I still can.
Comment has been collapsed.
He's a scammer, and a proven one. I find it stupid that actions would be taken against me, when I'm simply letting people know who not to trade with. Moderators should be more preoccupied with helping against scamming, by blocking scammer accounts. ;)
Comment has been collapsed.
Would you risk your SG account to prove something that is obvious anyway? I mean come on we all do know that there are scammers by now, like I said above I even know one of the users here on SG who tried to impersonate the said user, but then again there is a reason why I didn't say the name of that impersonator and reason being I don't want to get banned myself, because it's not worth it, but it doesn't mean that if support asked me who was it I wouldn't tell them, just not publicly, if that makes sense.

Rules we're made to be changed, just like systems have developed and changed over time due to popular request. As I can tell by now, some of us agree that it's stupid to hide known impersonators simply due to a rule. The involvement of staff seems to be limited, leading to scammers having easy time impersonating in front of new users, who, impressed by the fake reputation claimed by the scammer, go first in trades with no problems, resulting in them getting scammed. I understand why the rule has been put in place, but shouldn't there be something you can do to the scammer? It just feels as if we're protecting them, so they can do whatever the hell they want.
Comment has been collapsed.
shouldn't there be something you can do to the scammer?
Yes, reporting them. The problem is not the rules, but the staff being overwhelmed and not able at all to keep up with the user reports.

A lot more scamming happens through public groups. Once I joined to a group chat giveaway, and got added by 3 scammers/phishers.
BTW I'm gonna tell you something. In Hungary, the thief or burglar or attacker have more rights, than you do. If he attacks you with a bat, but you knife him to death or shoot him, you get sued, because "the use of weapons were not equal". If even the police is agains you, who would you call? I hate my country too. No, not the people, but the country itself. Those d*ckheads in the Parliament are constantly stealing money, and throwing it away for useless things. Once I'll finish university, I'd want to live and work abroad. Oh and what about their new campaign motto? "'if you come to hungary, you can't take hungarian people's jobs" I hate my country, but not the people in it, just that few, who made it like this.
Comment has been collapsed.
Same goes in Romania, friend. I've left the country a few years ago, and to this have no regrets whatsoever. The system is corrupt, with politicians sticking money up their assholes all the time, leaving the country in poverty and creating debt. I'm not sure about rights in the situation you're getting robbed, I remember my uncle beat the living shit out of someone that tried to rob him and was congratulated by the police. Depends on the region I suppose.

everyone can go and search the name OP posted in http://steamcommunity.com/ and find that impersonator, and then with Steam Enhanced Addon or manually find his SG profile link, but it's not like relevant.
Comment has been collapsed.
that's why they will keep getting scammed, but I think listing his SG profile here not really shows anything, because his name is different unless you click view his Steam profile, then he can change it, and he has -5 rep, also everyone who knows about trading gonna check if it's a real guy, and will check his real SG profile anyways.

Passive-aggressively calling me "friend" really gets my goat.
Comment has been collapsed.
The more you say, the more I'm sure that you DESERVED that scam. I mean you are still a kid. You can't take a single joke lightly, no you have to be aggressive. Good job, now you are not just scammed, but probably made yourself to a few people's blacklist.

Do you have any problem with my nationality? Going personal is the most childish thing you can do. I just can't believe that you still couldn't delete that name from your thread, and you are constantly rejecting any help or advice, we are trying to give you.
At least I'm not trying to hide in the anonimity of the Internet.
