Well the tech they showed was boring, but I think it has potential.

Honestly they should have just kept the Wii controllers(Maybe upgraded them) and focused on graphics, Nintendo use to be known for that until the Wii.

That screen controller = blah to me honestly.

Maybe some good will come of it, who knows.

but they kept wii controllers: It will be those wii controllers PLUS tablet control

Im not selling my wii and games. It will be all compatible.

I know that, my point was to scrap that controller, upgrade or make the original remotes better, then use the rest of those funds to make graphics better. Thats all.

I like the Wii, the screen seems meh tome is all.

I'm starting to warm up to that controller....

Can't help but think the system itself is going to have to have some pretty impressive specs to power all the potential that these control configurations provide.

(OH SHI! That Pro controller looks great.

I'll now attempt to read the future!

The Wii U will be released and take a very underwhelming stance in the market share. Nintendo will take a half-arsed attempt at marketing digital products which the other consoles/consumers are moving towards, Nintendo is seen as archaic with a non shifting market.

Nintendo's lack of decent third party developer support will force the Wii U to be lunched and maintained with an extremely small catalog, most of which will be crap. Developing for the Wii U's hardware will become the major burden for the developers.

Nintendo will release one of the same six games they've been remaking for 20 years. Nintendo apoligists will fight to the core that these titles are not yet stale and predictable. These games are inferior to the majority of those released in the past, fans will dismiss this and calim they're the best thing ever.

The Wii U is released between console generations and the newest edition of Xbox and PS consoles will blow the Wii U's hardware out of the water.
The Wii U will make serval hardware and software mistreads which the apoligists will again defend for no other reason than it's Nintendo. The Wii U will be remembered for it's gimmicks only.

Lets not turn this into a crappy console fight...really now.

It's hardly a console fight, I'm just predicting what's going to happen due to Nintendo's current design philosophy and the results of their former projects.

I would love to see Nintendo acutally embrace some form of innovation and start releasing some decent games again. However their closed game developtment, stances on digital services and general stance in the gaming industry makes me believe that Nintendo is way past it's prime. The kind of way-past where you take them into the backyard and shoot them.

Nintendo has such a legion of loyal fans but I haven't seen them do anything currently to deserve them. Nostalgia is a helluva drug

The Wii was an incredible success, Donkey Kong Country Returns was my favorite game in a long time, among other games on the system. Different strokes for different folks I suppose though.

But they said they wanted to get most of the tech stuff out of the way. I'm sure the games will impress, but I'm a little let down by the whole miiverse idea. I don't want people all up in my face when I'm trying to play a game. I'm socially awkward as it is.

I think I'm over Nintendo. My wii is gathering dust, I mostly use the PS3 to play movies, and most of my gaming comes from steam. Long live steam.

As much as I love my DS, I can already tell I won't be watching their presentation. Seriously, a gigantic DS-clone as a controller? For the Wii? Who the hell would give money for that? It looks like something you'd get laughed at for mentioning it as an idea at a Nintendo brainstorm-meeting at their HQ :D

The WiiU is an entirely new system using new controls and with better gfx than current gen systems and will be centered more around the hardcore gamers with launch titles such as Assassin's Creed 3/Metro Last Light and ZombiU. Are you just trolling or did you not know?

Well I guess if I could afford a Wii, I wouldn't care about how expensive these gizmos are, and just go ahead and buy them. :D (Same with the Kinect)

Its not the current Wii its a new one so you have to buy an entirely new system (think of instead of adding a 2 to Wii and making it a Wii2 they are adding a U because they are trying to make the console entirely revolve around what the player wants from the casual to the hardcore (centering on hardcore to gain back the market). Rumored price is $400

Good to know that! See, I thought it's just a try to squeeze out money of people.
I'm glad Nintendo doesn't want to stay in the "for casual gamers only" category. I like their games but I also think the Wii holds way more potential than what they used it for so far. I'll try to be less negative about this from now on :D

Glad I could clear that up :] and that you were just misinformed and not trying to be a troll thats always great to see if you haven't tried the 3ds you should give it a try you may be very surprised I believe the Resident Evil on it is the best one since RE4 gameplay wise and Snake Eater is fantastic.

Nope, no intentions of making an ass out of my face :D
I've only tried the 3ds once, and it was nice. I love gizmos, and would buy EVERYTHING if I had the money. Would crap my pants from zombies in 3D though :D
It's also good to see how companies race with each other (Sony and Nintendo especially), we get more and better to choose from.
