I have yet to discover the reason for this. Quite often, my winners will check that they've won, then take a leave of absence from Steam and SteamGifts for a week (or more).

I have someone who won a game from me a YEAR ago, looked at the key, and then never registered it. They have since not logged back in to SG at all. Their profile on Steam is private, so I can't contact them. Because they've never logged back in to SG, the mods can't force the GA to be marked as received. Aargh.
I've found that I have the biggest issue with stuff like this with level 0 users, since they often are just "kicking the tires" around SG. I now almost never do a GA below level 1, because at least that person has created one GA, and I know that I have a way to send them a message on SG. Also, if someone has at least given one game, they're making some attempt to become part of the SG culture, which means they're more likely to register their win.

They literally won't re-roll it if the user never logged back in and had the opportunity to see it past 7 days. I know, right? No big deal, I wrote that one off a long time ago. It's just frustrating to have everything else -- ever -- completely resolved and an otherwise flawless set of stats going both ways, and this one inconsiderate person messes it all up with support not being able to do anything about it the way that the rules are written. Crazy. :D

You are being discriminate towards level 0's Not all people have the ability to buy and give. Young people, teenagers, and collage students may not have the ability to share like we have. You should not think yourself better than them because you probably are not.

He didn't say that all people having level 0 are bad. Some are probably just starting their adventure on SG, some may be poor, etc. Still, there are hella lot of leechers, who obviously have money (as they have thousands of games on Steam) and just want more games for free without giving anything back, just because they can. Sorry, but SG users are free to choose whether they want to give their games away to the anonymous mass of users who do not contribute for various reasons. If that was discriminating, the level system wouldn't exist here. When I made an account on SG, I was a poor student as well. The first games that I gave away were provided by some site for watching a couple of ads. Later, I started giving away cheap games (like 0,50 cents). Don't tell me that it's impossible for young people, teenagers, etc. Where there's a will, there's a way. You're being naive if you think that there are 922 039 level 0 users on SG right now that don't have the ability to buy and give. You need a Steam account worth 100$ to make an account on this site, just to remind you. You're being rude suggesting that grez1 thinks better of poor people, because he never suggested such a thing. If you're so worried about level 0 users, why are your latest giveaways aimed at level 7? Only a small fraction of your giveaways is aimed at level 0, so what are you trying to prove? Before you judge others, judge yourself.

Nobody said that the issue with level 0 users is that they don't give. Read carefully what grez1 wrote.

Wow, you just...you just went way, way, way off script there, Judgy McJudgypants. I didn't say I never gave anything to level 0s, but I don't do it as often as I used to because, statistically speaking, that is who kept burning me on the very thing you're asking about. You're asking for people's insight into the issue, and I gave you my observation. Nothing more, nothing less. Don't apply labels to me about thinking that I'm better than anyone else. I never said anything to suggest that...that's a weird supposition completely of your own making.

I've been out of work for 2 years due to illness. I have no real money to speak of, but I still manage to buy the odd bundle. It's my entertainment because I don't have a lot else to do. Bundles generally mean that I'll have unwanted or duplicate games. I don't count myself better than others, but I also don't feel like making my giveaways open to level 0 purely because my early giveaways were won by people who didn't even say "Thank you." They're mostly people with 100s and even 1000s of wins. Instead, I give some via Unlucky 7 because I know they are going to real people and not bots.
I was a completely poor student once who couldn't even buy bundles because I didn't have the means to. I understand that there are people like this. Unfortunately, while some people are in poor financial situations, others are just greedy.

Registering to steamgifts requires account with unbundled games total value above $100.
I don't think poor people can even register to this site.
They just don't bother giving away (because they just registered and still want to test how SG works, or just leeching for free games)
And there are many $1-$2 bundles that you can giveaway to reach lv 1.

literally anyone can get a key off of DIG for a nickel. not to mention you can give out keys from mass free games here now, Level 0 GA's shouldn't even exist.

Because they might just look if they won but they can't activate it yet.
Though i had one person that didn't activate it after a week, ignore my messages, and when i posted about it on the board and the suddenly it could get marked as received.

Does my Steam profile need to be public to use the site?
You'll need to switch to a public profile when registering, so we can confirm you have a legitimate Steam account that meets our minimum requirements. From that point on, you can use the site with a private profile. However, if you wish to enter giveaways, the site will ask you to switch to a public Steam profile once a week to bring your account up-to-date.
@Khalaq, Sorry for the trouble, been wanting to ask. I do not understand why someone will keep a Private profile when using a public site. I only set my comments to friends as I do not want to manage unwanted messages. Does the site even enforce this? "the site will ask you to switch to a public Steam profile once a week to bring your account up-to-date." Cheers~

Thank you, Heyday. Great to know it works, though why set it to Private which hinders the gifters in checks etc. Hopefully the changes on Steam soon will allow more privacy options and individually hide sections of the profile up to a standard users dont feel uncomfortable to make the profile public. :D Cheers~

Check their profile to see if it was activated. Also see if they were trying to regift it. If nothing, as for a reroll.

yes, this is something that will happen more often than you think.. there are entire groups on Steam dedicated only to Steamgifts bots, so it's likely that he's using some kind of script or bot..
anyways I never take more time than the needed - if a week passes, I swiftly unclick "send key" and file a support ticket for a new winner with the procedure everybody knows, and I don't care anymore about him
I ALWAYS mail them too if I see them online and they still don't activate the key but often they're simply using bots and they don't even know they won something..
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah could be a bot user, but this also happens to me a lot with my public giveaways. And whatever reason they have to ignore their wins, it is annoying and disrespectful, but you can't help it anyway. Sometimes you literally have to hunt them down to make them activate their games. lol

A week has passed, right?
Let's apply for reroll.
With support, if the winner is suspicious, they will probably investigate it.
It will go smoothly if there are "screen shots" etc. that are evidence that you try to contact the winner by Steam or email.
I think it would be better to delete the URL from the Description.
the winner (winner after roll) may dislike receipt if the URL to the prize is left.

Postscript,
In the case of suspicious people
Investigate with SGtools and report any problems.
[Tool] SGTools (New Section, DEALS!)
Steamgifts Tools - Activated Wins
Steamgifts Tools - Multiple Wins

Why did you even try that hard? Screenshot the friend request, submit a ticket, and await a reroll.

I remember declining invite one time, but all it took was someone to comment on profile "added from steamgifts win" to understand and accept. So, make sure you comment because it's not obvious to someone you are the giveaway owner if they haven't looked at the site.

I gived away around 1000 keys in this last 2 months. Around 10 ppl dont open/redeemed the key, even some of them dont open Steamgift.com again and have last online status 1month or 2 months ago...
or some of them just redeemed and dont connect anymore and dont marked received.
well... Its just 1%, its not a big problem, but is annoying anyway. I needed to contact this ppl, let messages in their profiles or add him, and contact support for reroll or asking for the Received mark.
I think 1% is using Bots for enter all the GAs with their secondaries, or just dont care about the site and system. Sad...

Im talking in general, about my experience, not just 1 person.
But if he is Online, you can try to contact him tru steam, and every communication can be a proof for support in case of a "biggest problem" if its the case... and as I said... some ppl just dont care if they win, or just the site or anything ... :/ they are zpezial ppl

I am using a dark theme addon for Steamgifts, so for some reason it always shows like i am online all the time.
Maybe that's the case, and this guy in some kind of vacation outside of steam, so there is no way to redeem a key.
Comment has been collapsed.
In such cases, you could just leave a comment in the GA instead of going AWOL for half a week though. That's what I usually do in the rare occurrences when I know I won't be able to redeem within less than a day.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah but I mean, since I always post a "thank you" (except on many-copies GAs), I figure I can just post it in advance and at the same time let the person know that I'll redeem late ;)
Comment has been collapsed.
Can't check it because i am Blacklisted from you.
Would be nice to write me the reason (at steam or here).
In general all are a lot of the people that don't activate there Wins Bots/Autojoiners.
You have a lot of work and that is one of the reasons why i don't make public GA's anymore
Comment has been collapsed.
Probably they don't know how it works. They just think everything is automated, which is not.
I had one user who also didn't know they won a game, so before the week passed I decided to contact them directly through Steam and told them they got an email and a notification on Steamgifts.com, that they won a game. The user had bad english but understood what I said and received the game.

There are infinite number of answers for "why the guy isn't redeeming my gift". People do not always browse SG from PC, and redeeming from mobile, while possible, is usually too much effort considering they can redeem like usual just a few hours later. It's usual thing for me to find out that I've won something while browsing SG from bathroom, and I'm not in a mood to redeem at all cost if I can do the same in front of my PC in an hour, after I get ready. Likewise, I could be browsing SG before bed, found out that I've won something, but postpone redeem until the next day after work, and it's nothing unusual. It's also totally normal for humans to just forget, especially if somebody is not a frequent SG visitor, but happens to log in every once in a while.
If a week has passed and your winner didn't redeem his gift, just ask for reroll in case he didn't see the key, or request received feedback otherwise. Until that week, you gonna be patient regardless, as per rules.

So I have been on steam gifts for a couple of years now but there is one thing I still don't understand. Why do people not accept a win? It happens all the time for me. I see the person online everyday, but it is as if they don't know they won. Here is the latest example... https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/x1aCx/the-last-door-season-2-collectors-edition. This person is online everyday but they seem to completely ignore the fact that they won a free game. I know when I win, it is very obvious so what is the problem with this person?
