Tinker Racers looks pretty good for me and my son. We've been playing a lot of Mean Greens lately, and we love the household environments.

Worst start to a new year on bundle scene, HB is almost dead, FN is all rebundles and not interesting games and IG is useless without HH.

IG ended HH?

May I ask why it's useless? I understand that you got more out of it before (cheaper by groupbuys, trading, gifting), but the bundle itself is still cheaper then buying the games on sale (even repeats considered).

Useless because you wouldn´t buy a lot of the included games (even on sale) from the bundle (unfinished, buggy, asset rips, short) games ). Often only one or two interesting or good games are included and paying 3.99/4.99 is to much for only one game. So if IG ended the
HH , i think they won´t sell much bundles in the future. Only hardcore collectors will buy them. Gamers get much more out of fanatical or humble bundles.

Exactly, IG bundles are mostly worth for Happy Hour price only = around €1. I'd imagine buying it for a normal price very rarely.

Thanks for the detailed answer. I missed the quality context in the first posting. While I am a collector and still view it as cheaper, I expected that someone only wanting one or two games would rather try to trade/win instead of buying HH.

Most of their bundles aren't worth the full price. The majority of the games are low quality or frequently bundled; and the better games typically end up rebundled by other sites (especially Fanatical), in bundles which are cheaper and/or are better quality overall.

Like one of the other comments mentioned, they are games that are borderline worthy of DIG bundles (and lets face it, Indiegala has been including DIG repeats). At $1, it really was a no brainer. But now? I'll just let the games go, at $3.50/$4, it's just not a deal and I would rather buy Humble Bundles at that price point.

I'm glad to see others are going to be skipping IG in the future. Hopefully enough people stop buying them that IG will make less money than the cheaper Happy Hours.

indiegala bundles really are pretty shit at least in the recent months I cant really talk about all time as I only started a year ago buying bundles, but the recent ones are never worth what they are asking for them same as DIG those bundles are also 99% of the time not worth it. Same as groupees but that site already died pretty much. IMO even Humble Bundle doesnt really make many gaming bundles anymore except for the monthly and they also started rebundling quite a bit (overall still good though). The only other "good" bundle site is fanatical imo and they focus way too much on mystery bundles :/

Now that I look more closely -- wasn't that a giveaway, which would lead to the game being marked with ** instead of just *?

I guess it was a limited giveaway... Does "limited giveaway" = * in the world of SG math? :)

IGN prime is a paid subscription/membership, so we generally count these as a bundle.

I really don't remember this one myself, so... was it actually free, this one?

Permalink

I've never been an IGN Prime member, but it definitely seems like this game was free to members. The page still seems to be active for members to claim it, even now. (Although I could be wrong -- can't check, since I'm not a member).

MP is way more fun than SP with NPCs or am wrong?

Permalink

You're right. The problem is that multiplayer in 99% of indie games is dead.

Yeah i just checked Sky Noon... i dont like Indie games but MP in this game looks funny. Then i see "in-game 1" by SteamDB... hm cool :))))
so maybe 1v1 with friend... max

Seeing Sky Noon trailer, it reminds me very much of Goat of Duty (was both free and in Monthly) mode called Fus Roh Arena, where the only weapons are ramming and pushing away opponents. I can personally attest to it being very much fun. If you're interested in checking out similar gameplay, you should give it a shot (plus there's still a playerbase in Goat of Duty)

For me SP is fun at any time I want to play.
MP is mostly boring and pointless in most games for me.

Only good MP you can have is with a few of real life friends and for that I got Borderlands Series.

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah of course MP is fun basically only with friends, random squads/teams are mostly unplayable. Random teams in co-op games is dead thing. Everyone doing anything they want so its useless... everyone wanna be leader and nobody listen.
And sadly MP games are mostly overflooeded with whining kids... and honestly when u have random kid in team.. its... its... oh god.
MP only with friends (if its not CoD or other brain dead shooter)

They mostly look interesting to me except for the multiplayer part. Ah well, I guess I can finally force someone to play Bloodsports with me to complete some achievements

Problem is that games created with multiplayer as their main focus have not much to offer outside of multiplayer - maybe some vs bots arenas.

I fully agree. Although some of my favorite and most played games ever are multiplayer-focused. For example Unreal Tournament / UT2004.

Would get it for Death Squared if online coop via remote play (since the game only has local coop from same computer) worked. Could anyone who owns it give me some insight on it? Thanks in advance!

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Well, remote play is made by steam... so if it worked for you before, I guess it will work here too? (As the devs can't really mess up anything with it)

There are wonderful indie multiplayer games, but these aren't really the ones I'm looking for. Death Squared looks interesting, but maybe only because I've been playing Talos recently, so I'm set for lasers and puzzles.

I really read indiegala multiplayer bundle a couple of times first..

Anyway most multiplayer games i invest time in, die out, so skip. But also no money anyway, when you think small chunks won't hurt till you figure it's 1 big bite in the end.

Sky Noon - 17 players
Death Squared - 15 players
Kingdom Wars 2: Definitive Edition - 11 players
Extreme Exorcism - 2 players
Bloodsports.TV - 18 players

That's a hard pass for me..

I had two on my wishlist and two more look nice, but yeah the curse that's behind almost every indie multiplayer game out there seems to be the case here too. Lost the count on how many of them i had and loved that they had non-existant player bases from their launch and never actually took off.

Indie Multiplayer Bundle

Extreme Exorcism

What kind of multiplayer game is that?!

Extreme Exorcism is a paranormal platformer where every move you make comes back to haunt you.

oh lol

I already have the games I want from this, Sky Noon and Death Squared, so this is a skip from me.
