Yeahh, I get you. I was like that a while ago. And now I'm the one starting the conversation and I say everything what comes to my mind. And if they're uncomfortable by that I just end the conversation.
Having someone to talk to who understands you very well is a great thing. But finding it is hard. You just have to keep looking until you find someone decent I guess.
If they're like ''You don't even text or call, I don't too. But I'm just that much of an asshole to blame you.''
I had a friend like that once in my school. Well, she was my only friend actually. :D
We got seperated in highschool. I wanted to meet and I texted her everytime. But she always made up an excuse. I never seen her after that.
And now in my new school, I have someone who is doing great being a friend.
So I say you learn as you go through things. And everytime your opinion about something changes.

I'm quite in the same seat, I can't seem to find more friends that willing to stay friend longer than 'hi, this-that, see ya soon' then never talked again, unless I initiate which I'm bad at it (I'm not really talkative to acquaintance, and I find they might feel annoying like I do most of the time, I actually nervous, lol)

I already gave up on searching new friends (yeah, even with 100+ person in IRL military boot camp are worth searching), still, I do have a few friends in IRL and online, which is something, because I sometimes being too dramatic, yet they still come back to me.
