Are you legally allowed to use "good" and "Duke Nukem Forever" in the same sentence?

I thought Duke Nukem Forever was actually a good game. That's coming from someone who's never played any other Duke Nukem game or even seen gameplay of them. Definitely give it a shot.

I think the main problem for it is that it could never, ever, live up to the hype that came along with it. I haven't played it yet, but I've seen a couple of Let's Plays of it and it looks decent. I think I'd have fun playing it.

Still haven't played that game but it's reputation proceedes it. I still want to see what the fuss is about.

havent really played any of those back in the day, DOOM used to made me feel sick ^^;

Isn't as bad as people say it is, the driving part sucks big time and overall DNF can't compete with the original, but calling it 'terrible' is a bit far fetched IMO. The hype got it at the end and they couldn't fulfill the expectations; in the end it was just a 08/15 fps with some dirty jokes... actually the DLC was very enjoyable.
Otherwise Dune 2, Syndicate, Dark Forces, UFO, Indiana Jones, Monkey Island, Hexen, Warcraft, Lost Vikings etc. pp. .. too tired to list why, but for people who actually played these the reasons should be obvious ;P. And I feel old too :>.

I'm honestly excited to play Duke Nukem Forever (someday) because I have no bonds with original Duke Nukem...
I hope I, at least, enjoy Duke Nukem Forever because of that (I think nostalgia may interfere on this).
My childhood was marked by Doom. That is still my FPS number one and I still didn't play any new Doom to say that the franchise is ruined like Duke Nukem Franchise... but I'm pretty sure nostalgia will interfere in something.

I'm not so old (20 years old) but I did play Duke Nukem 3D. It was very good, and enjoyable. Those pixelated tits were the first ones I saw in my life (I was 4, maybe?). Anyways, good game, but nothing can be compared with Warcraft 3. Now that's a seriously good game.

I bought DNF on February 12th, 2012. It's actually the first game I ever bought on Steam.
Yet, to this day, the game remain untouched. As long as I don't play it, it can't disappoint me.

I've won DNF here on SG 2 years ago and I've even finished it, I was curious about why people were so angry about this game, it was not so bad but the platforming moments where not what you expect from a Duke Nukem game. I've played far worse.
Anyway the first game I've ever played in your list was Arkanoid so I guess it's the oldest one.

Omg you just listed 5 of my old time favorites... I don't even know how many hundreds of hours I've spent on :
Lemmings (this was the puzzle shit of the century way harder and more enjoyable than most puzzle games in our era)
Prince of persia (the king of pc platforms at the time - another hardcore platformer game that you literally had to cheat for unlimited time in order to have a chance to finish it and even then you probably had to know the skip level secrets to make it till the end.. that FAT guy (!!) )
Doom & duke nukem 3d - by far the most enjoyable "pseudo 3d" FPSes of the time, along with Wolfenstein 3D. Damn I'm old !!!
Commander keen franchise - loved these too especially the aspect of collecting stuff for extra lives on these games.
Let me also add some more amazing/favorite old games (mostly rpg/strategy) to your great oldschool list of the 90s and the countless hours I spent on gaming those days:
Lands of Lore
Eye of the Beholder
Stonekeep
Heroes of M&M II
Might & Magic VI
Fallout
Lords of the Realm II
Command & Conquer & Red Alert
Warcraft II
Obitus
Populous
Ultima franchise (underworld and some others)
Popcorn (arkanoid style)
And I won't even go into lucasarts games of the time which were all amazing value for adventure gamers or the Gabriel Knight series.
Those were the times indeed... and DAMN, how time flies by.... It's decades ago, but somehow feels like just a few years back... :/
