He made a mistake, and it looks like you could eaily help out by doing what he suggests... You guys just had a tiny misunderstanding but I'm sure you can figure it out.

edit : it's really his fault that he redeemed it on the wrong account, no doubt about that. But refunding it might - I say might because I'm not familiar with refunds on Steam - help you retrieve the gift and then he can redeeem it on the right account.

He can not mark it as received because he can then be suspended for not activating a won gift.
