1st: Sarcasm
Next: They would still be "Leechers" but now they would have contributed 0.99 so in the next step someone would demand 2$ minimum...I know it's a bit slippery slope
So...with everything already said in this thread...I heard they are taking the hobbits to Isengard?

That is completely against the nature of this site; to give to those who can't afford it.
*Now imagine something like this would be implemented. What about yours $30 after one year. What if the rule was to give minimum $10/month (also retrospectively). Would you be happy about that?

I've got 763 entries and 168 comments at the moment.
I don't tend to write thanks on every giveaway.
Problem? None.
Contributor giveaways have increased the rate of giveaways, but also has had it's side effects. I'll make a giveaway just as I please, thank you.

I didn't get it.... however this idea sucks.
There are people who just can't allow themselves gifting games paid with their own money. Gifters and the site founder do realize it, and that's the reason there are still "free" giveaways here. So now there is free choise and people can choose to giveaway games to whomever they want.

Difference:
A gift or a present is the transfer of something without the expectation of payment.
Trade is the transfer of ownership of goods and services from one person or entity to another by getting something in exchange from the buyer.
You just have to go the steamtrades.com site

People will set whatever amount they want, if any, since this is an option. Leechers? Look at my profile and statistics. I won HIB4, then I created two public giveaways encouraged by my first win. Look closely how "lecheerous" they are.
You have disappointed me, Akalonian.

Maybe someone like me just doesn't have money even to buy game for myself?
If people want to be kind and share something, go on... As in reward they get contributor and higher chances to win game for themselves and warm punch in heart.
Giving > Receiving

You made one big mistake. You wrote it like you were suggesting it for ALL giveaways. See now what's happening? "OMG he wants to take our free games! wat a troll! nope.avi.flv.jpg".
I agree with you and when I will have possibility, I will also create contributor giveaways.

Olla lads and ladies, I was just thinking... now that we can add a price to our giveaways, as a requirement for the people that want it, we should all go with a minimum to get rid of all the people that never gave anything away and don't even intend to.
This will also encourage people to give stuff more often.
Of course, the more people we have visiting this site, the more revenue it gets. This is a good thing.
I would suggest we all start with a minimum of 5$ or 10$ on our giveaways and increase it over time.
...thoughts?
