Do people butcher your name?
I'll give you first pick for the HB Monthly games I won't use btw :)

People were constantly mispronouncing my surname even in my own country. I'm sure most people around the world would have problems pronouncing it properly, maybe except Ukrainians, Russians and lookalikes cos it sounds pretty close to their surnames. My name is so simple and common around the world nobody should have problems pronouncing it (maybe with some accent), same with my second name.

I was expecting something closer to Jerry... I guess our brain is somewhat hardwired to interpret the letters we see based on our own language.

I live in the part of the country where people have a lazy tongue. I always pronounce my name the way I want it said when meeting new people and they always drawl it back.

Nathan is fine, nobody has trouble. Mackenzie works alright, no real problems. But once people see Montague, they go soft in the head.
You'd think more people would recognize and know to say a name from one of Shakespeare's most popular plays.

Mon-tang happens a lot. Mon-tag, Mon-tog.
Mon-t'ague, the French way is accepted. But as we are English, we are Montagu, no pauses or big pronouncements in the middle... The t is soft but present.
It has been the way most English pronounce it for a while. Our most famous member of the house created the sandwich, he was the Earl of Sandwich in fact. As he was known as Sandwich, his creation was too.

I don't think anyone has ever pronounced Ashley wrong since it's pretty straightforward, but many people have butchered my last name.
p.s. I like your name! I can see why people would mispronounce it though, I would've gotten it wrong it as well. :(

I'm not that fond of my name. I would change it if it didn't entail a lot of red tape.

My name isn't that hard to say but it tends to give english natives pause because it's a latin name and in latin-based languages we pronounce the letter "i" as an i rather than the japanese word for love the english language insists in calling the letter i.

My name is Charlotte. You's think that'd be an easy name to pronounce right? It doesn't happen so often anymore, but I live in the US and some people will pronounce it as Charrrrlitte. It's probably more of an accent thing but it's still slightly annoying

People butcher the spelling, but not the pronunciation(except for when they think the capital i is an L because the modern day capital i's don't have the extended strikes on the top and bottom in typing).

Bump and meow. My name is easy to mispronounce, so when I order a coffee and ask for my name I just say something easier.

My name is Αλέξανδρος (pronounced as Alexandros - written as Alexander in english). No, nobody mispronounces my name and I doubt that there's even one greek name that a local would mispronounce. Greek names aren't hard to pronounce if you speak Greek. :P And Alexander is a known and easy name, so even foreigners wouldn't mispronounce that.

My own name, Brianna. There are several ways to say it and even worse most of the time I just get called things like Brianne, Brittany, Brenda.

It is funny how people actually try to pronounce my name Kobus. The best way I can describe its pronunciation is Qui-biss. So my question is do foreigners and even some locals mispronounce your name? I don't even want to put my full first name, middle name and surname here as that would result in a pronunciation disaster. I'll probably have to change it to Jack if I ever immigrate.
