At first sight, The Darkness II attracts me more. But the fact that some people finished it in 4 hours... kinda do not want that if it has no replay value.
I heard Spec Ops has a great story. But that's it, "I heard this", "I heard that", etc. Wanna make sure with a super bullet-proof poll!

They are both great to be honest. Spec Ops tells a better story and is more meaningful, but Darkness 2 is just 4-6 hours of pure fun gameplay!

Preorder on Steam - XCOM: E.U. > Darkness 2 and Spec Ops.
(At least value wise, both Spec and Dark2 were $2.50 last month at Amazon.)

Same price if you do trading, but I don't blame anyone for not wanting to get into trading. Can be a hassle at times :)
I guess if XCOM is not your thing then it's no loss; it's a wishlist game for me :D

It had only got to level one like 3 days ago. I think it'll make it.
(Tomb Raider made it to 100%, I imagine Bioshock can outsell Tomb Raider.)

True, but keep in mind that the "masses" don't shop around, they all buy on Steam.
Look at any Steam sale, you will see games that could be bought cheaper anywhere else in the Top Sellers list. Mark of Ninja is in the top 5 right now for $5, and it was $2 on Amazon like 2 weeks ago.
Also, Bioshock's pre-order is in the top 5 Top Sellers so...

6 Genuine Hats? Give it 3-6 months and you could likely sell these hats for about $5 each on the Steam Market :)
I sold the Genuine items that came with the Total War games for more than what I paid for the Total War games :)

i can say don't take The Darkness 2, i bought it for 14€ and was a 6 hours game... was fun yeah, but i have played more with a 3€ game instead of this one that still cost 30€...
I don't have idea about Spec Ops, i hear that is a really nice game

I preordered on amazon to get a 30$ credit on any future 2k game and I have a year to use it. But I'd say go with darkness 2. Had a ton of fun with those powers. good review of darkness 2

Haven't tried Spec Ops yet but fuck the Darkness 2, terrible controls, can't even figure out a layout that doesn't make me want to smash everything.

Map "grab" and "use" to mouse 4 and 5, then it's a breeze (as long as you have a 5 button mouse).

it depends on what you want.
if you want crazy over the top action fun with a unique visual style and a cool gameplay mechanic, go with darkness 2 (no idea what the other person is talking about, i had no problem setting up my controls into something i found perfectly workable, though the tendrils did take a bit of practising with for me :D)
if you dont mind suffering pretty generic (but still decent enough) gameplay for the payoff of a gripping, dark, and tragic story that has fantastic delivery, go with spec ops.
its all about what YOU want. fun game with quirky visual style and enjoyable combat? darkness 2. meh gameplay but with a depressing, gripping and very satisfying story that is told incredibly well, spec ops.
I think that theyre both very good games in their own unique way, and PERSONALLY i enjoyed both of them so i think theyre both worth having... as i said above, it just comes down to what YOU value more in a game - i know which game i thought was more personally satisfying, but i think ive given you the info to decide which is better for you.
OH, and one last thing. I've seen comments about the play length... ive finished both, and they both clock in at about the same play length for me.. im not an OVERLY slow player, but i dont speed through the games either. i had about 6 hours on darkness 2 and 7 on spec ops...

They're definitely both really good games. I just started playing Spec Ops last night and I really like it.
It just kind of depends on what you prefer in a game. Darkness II is fun as hell gameplay-wise, the story is pretty good, and there are a lot of those awesome "oh shit!" moments during the campaign. The gameplay is varied enough that it never gets boring and the abilites are interesting enough that they never get stale (imo). On the downside, like everyone else has said, it doesn't take too long to do a full playthrough of the campaign, though it is worth doing at least a couple playthroughs. The multiplayer missions are interesting enough but I don't think that aspect of it really comes together enough to hold your attention for too long.
Spec Ops, on the other hand, is definitely more about story and atmosphere rather than gameplay. There's definitely nothing wrong with the gameplay fundamentally, but there's nothing particularly special or different about it either. That said, it's quite honestly absorbing as fuck. I've only played through a little bit of the single player campaign so maybe my opinion doesn't hold a lot of water here but I don't think I've been so interested and drawn in by a game for quite a while. I haven't played the multiplayer but as far as I've heard it's just kind of tacked-on and not really worth more than a brief try.
So both games are more single-player offerings than anything and by virtue of that fact I don't think they have QUITE as much replay value as games that are more multiplayer oriented. But they're both excellent and definitely worth getting.
TL;DR Spec Ops for story and atmosphere, Darkness II for gameplay and action. Imo.

By popular demand, and the results of the poll I'm getting... The Darkness II.
Because screw logic and screw polls, why did I even make one.
Anyway, thanks for all the help and info, guys. I'll surely get Spec Ops: The Line once it's in a sale again.
I'm more attracted to Spec Ops now that I've informed myself and thanks to you, but getting into a super immersive story right now isn't part of my plans. Not a lot of time, lots of work, etc. So I guess the fun and fast gameplay suits better for me right now.
Thanks again!
PS: Thanks. No hidden giveaway or anything like that.
Seriously, no. Don't click that "a".

I'm thinking about pre-ordering Bioshock Infinite on GMG.
As I already own both previous Bioshocks, which other game (besides Bioshock 2/Mafia II/Civilization V) should I get?
I suppose the GMG one is the best deal, as I don't feel attracted to the XCOM offer in Steam.
Lazy people, vote here.
Oh well.
EDIT: How about the multiplayer? Which one is the most fun for you guys?
HIDDEN GIVEAWAY: None.
