I actually like this idea, the insane 50% point thing aside
Hear me out. Ok, it costs 60 points to enter MW3 then if you enter again it costs 65 then 75 then 90 points. Going up like that, or something of that nature. NOW lets say you really fricken want MW3 or some other expensive game. You save your points for a few days and put them ALL into it, a few entries and all your points are spent.
NOW that is one less person throwing all of their points at every single open giveaway there is.
It allows people to focus on the games they really want. I'd love to beable to put in multiple entries for Terraria, or when someone was raffling fallout 2

Why does the amount of points per entry need to go up exponentially? This part of the suggest I don't understand at all. It seems unnecessary to me. Paying 120 points for two entries already seems like a lot to me, why must there be penalization for entering more than once on the same giveaway?

Well one of the big complaints people have, or from what I have seen, is it is really easy to get enough points to go in for big games. It just seems a way to make people think twice before doing multiple entries for it.
Also, what about the low priced games? Lets say Terraria, the one I'm after. 10 points is fine but you wait two days then you can throw in 20 entries, or close to it, considering how many points I get. It would stop people from being able to completly flood the ballots

So you want people to be able to enter the same game as many times as they like, but you also want to deincentivise people from entering the same games as many times as they like?
If you think people being able to enter multiple times at the cost it costs to enter a giveaway then why allow people to enter multiple times at all?

In all honesty 5% seems to be about right for how many giveaways are being posted atm. If we start seeing more or less giveaways it may need to be adjusted accordingly, but seeing 5000 entries for possibly the most anticipated game right now seems sort of low to me considering we have over 25k members.

The ability to enter multiple times would solve both the "too many points" problem and the problem of people entering for things they don't want watering down the pool for people who are into a game. If someone really wants portal let them up their odds by using 100 points and getting 10 entries in it.

I would like to see multiple entries for games, but not cost increasing entries. I would also be okay with receiving less points %. At the moment, points seem easy to get...although that could be because I only enter for games I actually WANT to play. Seeing some giveaways with terms and conditions like "You must have had this on your wishlist prior to x date" might be kind of neat too. That's just my two cents though. :)

What im suggesting is, maybe 2.5% of the game is given as P for users.
Ex: when someone creates a giveaway for 60$ MW3 only 1.5P is given to users
And ability to enter multiple times.
Ex: by spending 60 + 66 + 72 = 198P (fine of 10% added for each subsequent entry) you can enter 3 times for one MW3 contest.
This way only people who really really want that game would enter.
thoughts?
EDIT: sorry, this is what i meant
