Raffles are essentially lotteries. Make sure to check the laws in both your city/state and your country regarding running a lottery.

I'm just wondering, is this a worthwhile concept to attempt? It's ready to go but having second thoughts on if it viable or not.
The idea is for a website raffling off games (maybe even console and hardware in the future). Users will pay for tickets (not sure how much they should be $1 or less?) and be able to win the prize (single or multiple prizes per raffle) when the ticket number is drawn.
The income from the ticket purchases will then go into purchasing prizes for next raffle and donating a good portion of the rest to charity.
Bottom line, would people participate in a paid raffle system?
