Should we have EU restriction options on GAs that work like the rest?
I would like to apply to your wonderfull offer. :o)
OK I found the real CV on sgtools, and I'm unfortunately out of the game ... bad luck (104 < 111).

A lot of people experience that problem with mafia 3. I think it will become worse in the future with other games.
Regarding an europe-restriction: Support pointed out, that Steam and games publisher don't treat "EU" (which in this context often just means europe) as a consistent entity. That means that some publisher may lock a game for a certain country that, although it is in Europe, somehow doesn't count, while other publishers don't lock it. An example are states that are part of europe, but not of the European Union. (e.g. Serbia, Russia)
It will be difficult for steamgifts to actually figure out, which countries count as "EU-only", which makes an EU-restriction rather pointless.

Yep, we do need an EU region, but the official word is that we won't.
Although it is a bit surprising that 2K put an EU region lock on Assassin's Creed New Orleans.

The problem is the way the restriction is worded. I went to a G2A link to see why Mafia III was so lowly priced, but I saw it was because of the EU restriction and the way the EU restriction was worded was that it did not outright say "restricted to EU", rather said "This game is region locked and will NOT be activated in: Asia Pacific, NA, SA, SE Asia, S. Asia, Oceania, and other non-EU countries not falling under these subheads"
Till publishers decide on a common EU restriction, it's pretty unlikely to get an EU tag.

Don't live in EU [sadly], so I'm not a candidate.
But it's really cool of you to give Mafia III.
Thanks on behalf of those that get to enter. :)

Oh, that would be really nice. As for the requirements:
☑ Live in the EU
☑ Have it wishlisted before today In one week it will be a year on the wishlist
☑ Have a positive ratio of "real CV" Sent | Won
:)

Did you get it off from G2A? My friend ecstatically messaged me and told me Mafia III was selling for 15$, so I went to his link but it was a G2A link and the restriction was clearly for EU countries (interestingly, it didn't outright say restricted to EU, but rather listed all the places that would not be eligible such as Asia Pacific, NA, SA, SE Asia, Oceania, and other countries which don't fall under its ambit)
I'm in Asia Pacific and I'm anyway not interested in the game, so have a bump!

The most inherrent fact here is that it is a singleplayer game. Unlike Bethesda and Activision who hardly ever put their newer titles to sale, it's already been on sale a few times. Retailers and key hoarders realized the game's lukewarm reception meant fewer people'd buy it, so this is probably cost cutting. Plus retailers get the games dirt cheap at physical retail copies because of the massive amounts they import, so its not like they're suffering much of a loss over it.

I didn't buy it from G2A but I think all keys that are a low price is restricted. US keys are £40
