Sometimes you can tell by what's written, but there are several "long" ones.

I didn't play it, but How Long to Beat says between 5 and 6,5 hours.

6 hours here. Slightly depends if you'll level grind, try to find all the "treasures", etc.

It wasn't always free?

I think it's based on, the names, the looks, but just that. Not sure though.

F2P games don't have cards, or, if they do, they're obtained through other means, like microtransactions and whatnot.

And do you really judge if a game is good based on whether they have cards or not? This is sad. :(
