It is nice for when I want to connect my laptop to my TV and just play some games with my controller, the interface is much more convenient. I feel like if you do not use a controller for any of your games then it is utterly pointless with a mouse and keyboard. I enjoy it though.

Its good for people who attach their PCs on big TVs. I might do that in the near future, maybe when desktop motherboards can accommodate 2 or more processors.
Right now on PC, even though its console looking, Its pretty convenient especially when my little cousins visits my house and they want to play in my PC. I'll fire up big picture and hand them over the controllers and player w/e they want

I never use it when I'm on my 24" monitor with the mouse and keyboard, it's just too long to navigate. There's already a browser and all my games are just a mouse click away.
With that said however, I have used when I plugged my rig in the living room. I don't really do it often though because its a hassle moving this huge PC all the time.

This. It's also impossible to read anything on a TV with the default Steam. It was fun when I tried Bit Trip Runner with my PS3 controller. I just wish more game supported pads natively. Like amnesia for instance. I just want to kick back on the couch with that game, not be stuck on my desk.. I also like how it only shows games that support controllers, that way you're not surprised when a game doesn't accept it.

I personally was really excited when I first used it. Then I realised the interface was a little messy for my taste. There were certain things I couldn't view that I could in the normal view. So I stopped using it, I don't use a big TV anyways.
I've actually stopped participating in the beta as well, it was the cause for my mysterious Steam crashes...

thought that this launched back in early september?
imo if you have a big (hd)tv to enjoy this on and dont mind using daisy chat to type then this could be for you :)

if I have a monitor 17, and 42-inch TV, of course, it makes sense to enable this option and play on the big screen in your favorite race. This is a good innovation Steam, and sometimes even want to sit in front of the monitor with a joystick.
Excuse me, Google.

What are your thoughts on this new feature?
I'm not sure what the point is in "consolizing" the interface for the PC but I guess it's convenient for those who like to use their controller with their computers/tvs. I'll admit I'm a sucker for flashy shit so the way the interface moves so smooth and fancy does appeal to me but I, personally, will never use it since it's more annoying than anything to use with a mouse.
Edit: Okay, after looking into it a bit more, it does look like it has some pretty cool features for those who like to use their computers on their TV.. but again, I don't fit into that category ._.
Thoughts?
(For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about: Big Picture )
