Many of them are. SG has a large enough member population to have a roughly representative cross-section of what you would find in any other large group of people, so most of them are not going to be terribly intelligent or nice. That's why the new popular defense to parrot is, "Hurr durr, you're elitist." Because anyone who doesn't want to associate with or cater to idiots and assholes is obviously in the wrong for discrimination somehow, even though discrimination is not a bad thing in itself unless it's based on invalid criteria. Even the most obviously tongue-in-cheek thread that resembles a noob or complaint thread or the like will have at least a few people, many of whom won't even read the post, who will just post garbage thinking they're jumping on the flaming bandwagon. I, for one, appreciate a good 1984 reference now and then. Don't let them bother you.
