Do you agree with this change?
I've just checked all the cheaper games I had in mind, all increased.
EU was already is officially the most expensive tier for almost everything.
thanks Obama

Maybe it's the case with cheaper more-indie-like game, but definitely not with AAAs that have same cost, and I'd say that people mostly buy AAAs off steam, rather than indie games.
I don't say that I like the change, because I don't, as I'm the one who is losing something, but I can't say that I'm affected that much by it either.

Well we can summarize with "we had shitty prices and now it's even worse"

Argh, that's true. :O I'm a trader and they just destroyed me. XD

I'm sure hankering for some creamy bacon potato salad right about now...

Nope, it's a bug. Tried to buy cs:go and at the checkout, it shows the older price. ;) So, steam baffled with the EU 2 prices and think that they're EU 1 prices.

It wouldn't be fair. Tier 2 prices were already high and we don't even live in rich countries. xD Imagine if we get tier 1 prices. We won't even be able to buy one single game. And I'm a trader, so that would destroy me, because I massively sell some games, like cs:go, during sales. :P Maybe I should eventually find a way to acquire paypal money and buy games from key sites. :P

They actually changed it. -_- Now the price is Tier 1 even at checkout. No way I'm going to pay that much. I'll just start buying from Canadian traders.

This is very serious. What are we going to do? I didn't find anything on the internet about that. Now I'll have to buy from Canadian traders all the time? :/

Ya, it sucks for EU2 region, many countries in that region are very poor and they need cheaper games, people in those countries can't really afford buying games for EU1 prices.
I hope they removed just because they plan to add new regions for every country that was in EU2 region.

Funny when changes like this happen, things never get cheaper, just more expensive.

and still pay with the same price as US store.... with the lock

So you say it's a bug and prices remain lower at check-out. I remember buying Talos for 2,5€ (75% off + Alienware Arena coupon), so its base price was 20€.
So Italy is in EU2 region along with much poorer countries. I'm sorry for those countries, of course, where people have to buy games with prices equal to Italian ones. Thing is, in Italy prices are slightly lower than France or Germany, but salaries are much lower (because of ridiculously high taxes), so... it's funny how Valve puts us in the poor region, while our government keeps pretending everything is fine and getting better (13% disoccupation!!!). Damn this f***ing € and all praise Lord Gaben!

W8 whattttttttt? from 5.49 CS:GO last sale (50%) off to 7.49 if (50%) off .... Shit got real and major changed to the worst fuking bs.

It's dead according to leaks! Well kinda, as pubs can choose to add country prices to emulate that tho.
Dear partner,
Valve has not officially supported Euro Zone 2 pricing for quite some time, though through legacy configuration we allowed prices to be defined for that region.
We will be removing all legacy support for Euro Zone 2 pricing as of February 16th. For the majority of titles on sale through Steam, there will be no difference. If your specific title had relied on regional pricing for Euro zone 2, the price of your product will now be set to a euro price that is consistent throughout all the affected countries. If you have special price settings applied to specific countries, there will be no change.
Best Regards, The Steam Team

I hate them. They changed the prices of the games I used to trade. :'(

Gotta love than now they put countries with monthly average salary of 3000 Euros into the same basket as countries where the same job earns less than 400 Euros… Yet leave other ROW countries with lower average Steam prices intact.
And they really wonder why this region is slowly going back to pirating games.

Talos Principle
EU1: 39,99€
EU2: 19,99€(formerly)
trading for it: ~2$
There are some things money can't buy. For everything else, there's trading.

So, all games that had special pricing for Europe Tier 2 (the tier for the poorer countries in Europe) cost the same now as Tier 1. Examples:
What happened? This will certainly mostly affect newcomers to Steam that haven't purchased any Valve games yet.
