How do you feel about the game being cancelled?
No one seems to care here lol.
But posted update anyways.

Surprised you didn't. It had dragons. One of the only reasons it caught my interest, to be honest. The trailers were cool and while the first gameplay was meh. The second one was slightly better. I liked the dynamic way you can control your character, dragon or both together in combat.

"Meh, don't really care." is pretty much my standard reaction to anything microsoft exclusive (or console exclusive really). game looked ok but not enough to convince me to buy an xbone :-)
//EDIT: I realize I could probably have gotten it on Win10 but I decided I'm not bothering with Win10. If you like it more power to you, but I was pretty peeved when it uninstalled python and classicshell on me during the fall update... that shit doesn't fly with me, so they can take their new update philosophy and shove it. Reimaged everything to Mint + Win7 for any windows games I can't get working in POL. Linux FTW! :-)

It wasn't an update as such, it was a new version of Win 10, Windows always uninstalls software which it considers incompatable during OS upgrades.

Yep, was just trying to use their terminology. I understand it's basically doing an OS install/distribution upgrade. My point was that the current Win10 upgrade experience doesn't give a lot of fine-grained control or good heads-up about what it will remove (which for me personally means it sucks although I would wager some sysadmins and programmers might tend to feel similarly).
Not trying to start a Windows vs Linux thing; both have pros and cons. Win10 crosses some lines with me but that's a choice everyone needs to make for his/her self (and I'm well aware that 90+% of people probably don't even notice this behavior).
:-)

Yeah I appreciate that mate, not trying to start OS War I either :-p I was just saying, it's not something that happens every update, it's just one of those things that happen once in a blue moon when the massive service pack style updates are released.
That update broke my Nvidia drivers, after the update I couldn't uninstall or update them, so I can only image the drama I would of had if it hadn't of uninstalled the really problematic software. xD

Heard of it quite a few times, but didn't really care. I think like Platinum games' games are too overrated/hyped.

Platinum might be in trouble since this game was axed
they are extremely efficient, just released Nier: Automata and have recently developed for Nintendo.
Activision means very little

Right, its just a Demo. Already, it's easy to detect its well above quality.
Probably won't mean the same Dark souls meant to From software, but they are very secure

They only worked on the gameplay for Nier: Automata.
They are co-developing it or something with another Square studio.
Scalebound however was ALL Platinum. (Although paid by MS obviously)

Not really sure what to say to that. Its normal to have Writers and directors outside of the main team in AAA games.
Correct me if im wrong, but at first glance, they only share the original Writter/Director of the drakengard series, its not as if anyone else would be able to connect all the games and crazy novels anyway

Scalebound looked really cool. When I saw this I thought there must be some other Scalebound in development or I was thinking of the wrong game. What they showed at E3 looked solid. It's a real shame that it's canceled.

Game looked awesome, not as awesome as NieR tho, NieR got a way more attention, even now. Blame Micro$oft and their scummy tactics, probably they think it will not sell very well, which might be true, but Micro$oft is to blame for themselves this too, since was supposed to be it's on Xbox One and Win 10 exclusive(available only on their store for a while before heading to Steam), which is very bad for the consumers.
Well let's hope NieR sells well and Platinum Games "gonna be great again", because NieR should be awesome, I really hope it will be.

Nobody watched E3? :S
A friend of mine was very hyped for this game :(
"Microsoft Studios has come to the decision to end production for Scalebound."
That means no more money, but could they finish the game without Microsoft support?
gameplay trailer during E3

Microsoft backed it, so Platinum dont own it in the same way they dont own bayonetta, madworld or anarchy reigns due to sega

;_;
I was finally going to have a reason to use my xbone ;_;. Kinda hoping for Sony to pick this one up but I doubt it :/.

MS owns IP, and probably the assets.
So that won't happen unless Platinum somehow owns the assets and rebrands it.

a shame. :(
at least Hellblade is still extremely promising.

Being made by Ninja Theory kinda makes me ehhh. lol

Enslaved and DmC were both amazing. while Enslaved was extremely strong story-wise, but still not perfect gameplay-wise, DmC showed that they can also deliver great gameplay. there are few companies i trust with delivering a great hack 'n' slash with really good story-telling, and Ninja Theory is one of them.

Sad to see a game by Hideki "Motherfucking" Kamiya get the axe. This man is masterpiece after masterpiece.
Ah well. There's Nier Automata to look forward to.

Fuck, that was basically the only reason I was thinking of getting an xbone this year. Just hope Platinum is gonna be fine

Kotaku put out an article today stating the game was most likely cancelled, and then Microsoft replied saying "We'll have more to share on Scalebound soon." Shortly after Eurogamer says it's over. Thoughts on this?
I was excited for it when it was announced although didn't ever attend on buying an Xbone. Although when gameplay came out, I kinda lost interest. Trailers for the game looked rough. But I was interested again when last year they announced it was coming to PC.
Also on a related note. Some people are worried that Platinum might be in trouble since this game was axed, and Activision might be done working with Platinum on licensed games.
Update: It's confirmed
