Free keys = "Closed"-Beta access
Steam Shop gift = "Closed"-Beta access + some Cosmetic Items

Well, these items are purely cosmetic, like all the droppable items in Dota2, so they don't give any bonuses.
And the Steam Shop Gift is also redeemable in China, the free keys are not.

I believe shes referring to the fact that Valve keeps sending Dota 2 owners with gift copies of Dota 2 to give away.

if youre looking to buy your key ,buy it from the community market for 0.2 euros :P
or get it gifted from someone whos already playing ,they give them to us like crazy.

Or get one for free from the Dota 2 dispenser bot

The one you get from the Store for $30 is a bunch of cosmetic upgrades for the game (& beta access).
The free keys are access to the 'closed'-beta of the game. I say 'closed' because there is so many copies out there that Valve may as well release it, or at least call it an open-beta.

Valve stated its not even beta anymore. Its the full game that gets updated and just isnt accessible for everyone yet, because of too low server capacities.
