Something I learned from my dad, even if it sucks or your co-workers are idiots, work the hell out of that job. Also treat customers how you would want to be treated. Good luck!

There's nothing quite like the feeling you get when you land your first job. Just wait until you get your first paycheck. )

Well let's hope you just seemed a little tired and they decided to be nice ;)
If you're gonna be doing a lot of heavy lifting in the near future though maybe you should consider buying some back straps or something to avoid getting hurt.

Are you getting paid hourly? If so, leaving early isn't necessarily that uncommon or a bad sign. If there's not a lot to do, some places (usually smaller) will have their hourly employees clock out early, to avoid having to pay them when there's not much to do. While that's not great for your paycheck, it doesn't mean you did anything wrong.

So today was a very good day. This morning i woke up to a phone call asking if i was able to come in for an interview. :D well i did the interview which lasted all of 10 minutes and then as the potential employer escorted me out of her office, during that time I stopped her and thanked her for the opportunity of a interview and firmly reached out to shake her hand. She then said " you know what, are you able to come back later today?". It was at that point i knew i landed the job with a simple hand shake and a few good words. The second interview was a breeze, we were cracking jokes and having a good time all while being firm about what i will be doing on my job.
After all the joking and the talking was done she asked if i would join their family business and i was just so excited. At that point in my mind i was like "yesssssssss". I successfully landed my first job :D I didnt feel awkward at all throughout the interviews because the boss was very open minded and chill about the whole thing. She asked when i can start and so she recommended tomorrow.
My firs job isnt necessarily a profession by any means lol, but it beats flipping patties at a food joint or slaving away for peanuts at a walmart. I will be building furniture in the warehouse that is ordered and laying out the displays on which the floor workers will be selling their furniture. eventually i may move in to other ranks in the business if i play my cards right but for now im just so happy i got my first job. I have been applying for months and honestly it sucks. I give props to all you people viciously searching the job markets to get work. it isnt easy at all.
With all this being said, I may be able to start offering you guys a few more giveaways here and there cause ill be getting a paycheck but my main priority is a vehicle and furthering my college or going into the military. When i am able to i would gladly love to contribute to the steam gifts community because this place is like a second family to me. :D
For all you that have read this long rant, i thank you and to celebrate i will do a giveaway for the awesome community. The key will be given out after i get off tomorrow from work so i may do a follow up of how my first day went
I know its not much but its a chance for those who dont own it yet. Sweet Lilly Dreams
Edit: today was a lot more difficult than i had expected. there was a lot of extremely heavy lifting from clocks to oak beds to large glass cabinets and basically anything else you can think of for furniture . Not only is there building furniture, but i must unload the trucks when a load comes in. I must also rotate stock on the main selling floor and if something is bought either help move it to the persons vehicle and or move it up to the attic of the shop so that people may pick it up later. there are so many numbers i must remember so that the furniture does not get mixed in with the stuff that hasn't sold. For a first job it surly is gonna give me a run for my money lol. but im still gonna work my butt off just like i was hired to do.
The only downside to today was i was told to leave 1 and a half hours early. I hope to god it wasnt cause i did something wrong. No one told me i did any wrong but i just assumed so. Hopefully they dont do the same thing tomorrow to me. then i will know something is wrong
