Abyss of Neptune is a survival horror game set in the deep seas of the Bermuda Triangle. You are sent to investigate a mysterious underwater signal, but there is more to it than meets the eye. Do you have what it takes to survive the abyss?
Mature Content Description
The developers describe the content like this:
Depictions of gore, references to gore, mutilated creatures
At least I was spooked by a 20 feet shark dunno how you feel about these beasties.

"References to gore"? How does that work? "Oh, yeah, that guy got eaten off screen"?

Frankly speaking, not impressed at the moment.
First thing I noticed is screen tearing, enabling vsync via nvidia panel didn't help so I guess it's some sort of post effect.
Second thing is clunky controls. I get that momentum is a thing, so I'm not talking about movements. Instead, aiming is bad (and you don't have many harpoon bolts to start with), and to exit logs or inventory you'll have to press backspace. Why not esc or tab? I have no idea.
Lastly, enemies are... like, irritating? Broken? I managed to get to the atrium (with giant statue behind the glass in the middle) and got stuck in server room since both exits are occupied with chimera-like humanoid creatures. Enemies also tend to spawn randomly out of air (I've seen this a couple times) which may cause serious exploration issues since they are hard to kill and, like I said, you don't have many bolts.

Oh my, you went a lot deeper into the game as I did. I just hopped in to check it out and played for a few minutes.
As far as I can say your points of criticism are valid. I found movement and aiming irritating too. The control scheme is odd plus you can't re-bind keys.
Nevertheless I found it remarkable to release this game for free while poorly made asset flips are sold for a lot of money. Thank you for your response and I hope I didn't waste to much of your time in pointing out this game.

No, not at all. I played for 1.1hrs. I liked the idea and the fact it's completely free pretty much negates any criticism.
I'm also interested in what's next but not sure if I'm going to complete it myself, hope there's going to be some playthrough on Youtube.

It's relatively common in some bad console port games, that they bind XBox's A to enter, B to backspace, but it's an older thing, weird to see it here.

If you liked Narcosis or Soma this game could be right up your alley. Version 0.9.0.0. is free to download on Steam.
The game is not so abysmal as you might expect from a developer calling their studio Abyssmal Games. On the contrary it's very good.
I stumbled upon the game as I was going through the new releases and decided to check it out.
