The classic boasting thread and almost the only reason why we still keep buying games during those sales, right?
You are free to include purchases from other stores or systems, besides Steam/PC.

Spend? Ha, I actually earned me some potatoes!

Just one thing:

Last Call BBS

It released yesterday, and has been on my wishlist since it's announcement.
It's a Zachtronics game, and it's his final game that he is going to release, in a sense it is more just a collection of other minigames and game ideas he had that he couldn't or didn't make into full games.

I bought it full price, but I think it will be worth it, for any Zachtronics fans, I highly recommend taking a look at this one.

I was really waiting for this to release! I remember being so excited when I first heard about it, in somewhat of a bittersweet way. I'm sure it'll be even better than I had hoped. Zachtronics games are so amazing. Even though I suck at them lol

I didn't know he was stopping making video games. :(
Now I am sad. SpaceChem is one of my all time favorite games. I spent all my budget for this sale, but I will definitely be picking this up when I can.

Yes, I was wondering as well why it dropped so low in price. I'm a cheap chick myself, but Icouldn't help but buying it just to support the dev. Usually I extremely rarely buy anything less than 80% off.
Thanks for recommending it again, I'll make sure to give it a go soon.

What did you get, Dohi?

Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered - $6.24
Hexologic - $1.19
Mira's Brush - $0.99

There was recently a developer giveaway for Mira's Brush, and it looked alright so I thought I'd get myself a copy. A dollar is a great deal for a smaller indie game. Hexologic also looked good. And it's a puzzle game, and I can't say no to puzzles.

Ghostbusters is my most favorite of all of them. I have the original, and have played so many hours of it. It's such a great game, with such a great cast. It's even good enough to get past the bland as white bread and mayo main character. I love being a Ghostbuster, listening to the banter of the guys while they're at work. Now I get to do that again, with achievements! All for a little over six dollars. Great deal. Super deal.

for my friend (her bday was on the 23rd!):
Blade Runner Enhanced Ed.
Star Wars Episode I Racer

for myself:
Jewel Match Solitaire Umpteenth Edition
Star Wars Episode I Racer.

I also added $10 to my steam wallet so i could mess with some badges. i know ultimately it's wasted money but i get enjoyment out of it so i've stopped feeling guilty over it.

IF Elden Ring had gone on sale (even by just 10% or whatever) i would've gotten that too, but eh, winter sale. i'm trying to only buy games i know i'll play within the month i buy them, so that's why i didn't bother getting Neon White or anything else. just not feeling like run-and-gun right now.

I'll keep an eye on it for future sales, puzzly-metroidvania sounds a bit unique, and a fun mix. I'm not super fond of pure puzzles, not many balances difficulty / need of thinking, fun, and a good gameplay tempo to not get frustrated or bored by them.

Technically I did not spent a cent on any games this summer sale BUT I did bought the Vagrant at $0.79 using the money I accumulated from selling Steam cards. So I bought something. But does that count to actually spending something?

It's very likely that I won't buy anything else. I think this is more than my usual yearly spending on individual games, but I guess it's finally time to buy some nice games instead of just buying a dozen 90% off sub-1€ games, and telling myself that at least they are cheap compared to the content they offer.

From Fanatical: €22.30
Castlevania Advance Collection
Castlevania Anniversary Collection
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Ultimate Edition
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Digital Bundle
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 - Revelations DLC
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate HD
(Guess who loves metroidvania games, haven't played a Castlevania game, but finished the Castlevania series on Netflix recently? :D )

From HB: €7.6
Noita

From Steam: €16.89 + €4.49 (gifted)
Hook 2
Hard Truck Apocalypse
HARD TRUCK: APOCALYPSE RISE OF CLANS
Hand of Fate - First Expansion
Hades
gifted: The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut

~ €50, great success when inflation is soaring and my currency's value is at its worst :D (Homer: value is at its worst so far)

Just a heads up regarding the Castlevanias, most of them are not metroidvanias. The Advance collection games are, and they're great! Guess you could argue that Castlevania II is as well, but you probably want to play that one with a guide. And Mirror of Fate is, but... it's mirror of fate, sadly :(
Though many of them are still very good. I'm partial towards Castlevania IV, it's one of the best SNES era platformers. It's a shame they did not include Castlevania: Rondo of Blood in the Anniversary Collection, as that game is outstanding.

People speculated that Konami may release yet another collection, with the Rondo of Blood or Symphony of the Night.
I started with the first, I'm curious how the games turn out :)

What's the issue with Mirror of Fate?

Comment has been collapsed.

That would be nice. Symphony of the Night is one of the best metroidvanias ever!

I just found Mirror of Fate to be kind of boring. Might give it another shot at some point, as I did not get very far into it

Just wanna put a small recommendation down for A Year Of Rain (90% off)
https://store.steampowered.com/app/319540/A_Year_Of_Rain/

Now to explain why. The game plays JUST like Warcraft 3 (old school race-specific RTS game). And because of that it's a lot of fun. The downsides that people complain about are the following though, 1) the pathfinding is a bit shit (so it's generally better to manage where the units walk), and 2) the AI ally is generally shit. The Ally point is a big one because the whole campaign is co-op friendly, so you NEED the ally to help in most cases, though there is a really nice solution, play the campaign co-op with a friend :).
