Math is easy, Art is hard. Just look at the graphics of that game!

Can someone give me correct game part for level 7? Can't access it with just /xxxxx/ for some reason...
Or maybe I am just writing wrong letters for some reason?
Also couple of times i'm pressing arrow keys on end and had to do the level again... 😅 I'm on 8th and will leave rest tomorrow but I forgot how I solved it, ha ha...

Did you finish level 7? The level 7 giveaway combination is working. It's just lower and upper case characters, no digits. So there shouldn't be a mixup between digits and characters like 0 and O (also nothing like I l - lower L and uppercase i).
when you paste the level code it should work then. If the transistion between a level is too fast, click in the adress bar at the end of the level, to get out of focus and stop the transistion.
/trek-to-yomi this is the "game-code", but this won't give you access if the 5 character code is wrong anyway.

The code you gave is working for me, it's level 7 and it's for The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes
Trek to Yomi is level 8 and it's a different code. Also without digits, just lower and upper case characters. Should work too.
Maybe you mixed something up there? And here it always worked with those codes. Didn't need to add the /trek-to-yomi or something else :)

okay, thanks. Maybe it will work tomorrow etc.... Gave /trek-to-yomi/ as an example as I did level 8 at that moment and was easiest to copy/paste.
EDIT: solved by creating a comment with a link formatting... for example /giveaway/i48Sj/ that links to one of my old giveaways

Oh, thats weird how that worked.
But i'm happy for you that it worked. Good luck for the rest of the puzzle! It's not easy, but it's solvable with the hints :P

bump for solved. What a great puzzle! And the first one i solved. I think the biggest brain lag / blocker was level 4 for me. The decryption of the code was hard too, but do able with some little hints.
Good luck to everyone else! :)
I'm curious what the game is, where this minigame / levels was included.

Both. First solved the 10 levels and then the XOR puzzle / decryption for BG III. Wasn't easy, but all of you can do it! :P

I made an apprenticeship in informatics / computer science. Now i study informatics and psychology.
But wouldn't say that i'm good at math, lol. More like a tech guy.
I let ChatGPT make the XOR part. OP said some online calculator / tools were wrong, ChatGPT (GPT-4) did not let me down :-)
Good luck for the rest of the puzzle ;)

Can you share where to study or look for XOR? I just don't know what to do with this 10 keys (4 digits). I tried to connect them to be a binary code for ASCII, but you can't connect them all to be giveaway code. And if you find correct 5 letters after that - there is 120 combinations (5 letters bruteforce)...
I am going to work, but later i will check it out.

This hints should help. They are in the Disco Elysium page and all from the creator:
"
ou've been given 10 5-byte sequences - the last of which you just put into your URL bar :)
The treasure consist of the 10 nibbles you got on the GA pages - 10 nibbles give 5 bytes, which is another key to xor onto the 10 keys you got
and
Take all the keys and xor them, construct a final 5byte key from the treasure found and xor it on top of that.
"
"
Maybe it helps to think of XOR as a weird cousin of +?
I'm sure you could conceive of v1 + ...+ v10 + (v11 from 10 nibbles)
Nothing stops you from doing v1 XOR ... XOR v10 XOR (v11 from 10 nibbles)
The nice thing about XOR is that operands and result have the same length. So if you keep Xoring 5-byte sequences, you always get a 5-byte sequence as a result. XOR is just a bit-flipping operator.
"
You don't need to learn XOR. Just use ChatGPT for the final calculation. Good luck :)

Thanks, man. I am just dumb and wasted 2 days doing something different and bruteforcing all possible combinations...

Hey, yeah sure!
So the nibbles / binary you got from all the giveaway pages give you the 11th 5 byte sequence:
0101000100101010001001000001100100010000
And the other 5 byte sequences are the treasure at the end of a level. Meaning you convert the giveaway code from text to binary.
For example for GA 1 giveaway code in binary is this: 0101011101110100001110000101100101010000
then you XOR all the sequences, like this:
0101011101110100001110000101100101010000 XOR 0101010001000001010101110101000001010000 XOR 0100010001000101001100110110101100110111 XOR 0011100101010010010011000101001001101010 XOR 0011000001100001010010100101010101100011 XOR 0111000001000001010101100110111001110010 XOR 0100111001001000011000110101000101000100 XOR 0111000101100110010011000101001101110100 XOR 0111010001000011011010110111001000110101 XOR 0101010000110001001101100011011101100001 XOR 0101000100101010001001000001100100010000
=
111000001110100010110100101010100111000
This is the result of this. You can do it by hand, some online calculator or chat gpt could come in handy too.
Then you do it backwards, convert this binary to text:
ptZU8
And this is the final giveaway code for BG 3 :)

There should be an extra '0' in the leftmost position. Some of the online XOR calculators chop off leading zeros when displaying results.

Yeah, sorry. I think i made a copy / paste error somewhere. But that is how i found the giveaway code
Comment has been collapsed.
Ah fuck, in my opinion you did everything right. But maybe you had some error in some digit / sequence?
Actually at my first try, i also got some gibberish. Then i double checked everything / did it again and came to the result below.
But you can be proud in my opinion, apart from not getting the right result, you were totally right / on point ;)
Better luck next time :D

Bump. I've collected the keys, applied Xor's unholy spell on them but still don't know what to make of it. I'll come back after the giveaway ends to know the answer.

Idk, I tried all possible combinations and still no luck for BG3. Almost 1k combinations with All possible ASCII characters.

The mighty wizard Xor can kiss my ass!
First I got to rescue a damsel in distress. Ten times over!
Of course, she demands her lost treasure be collected in full before she'll leave the dungeon. Little brat.
At least there was a dungeon key to a loot chamber after each rescue.
And now, after all this Xor tells me the final prize is hidden in a way that only he himself can fathom. He locked himself in with all dungeon keys and the nibbles form the loot chambers and he's "working on it"...
Jerk. I hope he knows what he's doing.
