Private profile yet allowed to participate in giveaway.

I was surprised when steamgifts.com didn't ask me to switch to open profile to sync. I kept private/friends only profile all the time and no issues arised. What's up with that?

I think you only have to make it public once a week for SG to sync.

This. Sync once and you're good for 7 days. You only need to make it public a few seconds to sync, and you can set it back.
