What will be? Call of duty obviously. What should be? I'm not sure, honestly. The term GOTY has been used by publishers and such even though they've not won it. GOTY doesn't confer it's a better game than the rest anymore since games nowadays aren't as good as they used to be. With everything moving to mobile gaming, everything has been dumbed down for the casual user and for wimpy cell phone processors and crap..GOTY holds no sway anymore, at least to me. I pity anyone who runs out and buys a game just because it wins 'game of the year'. Unless that game is -damn- crazy good (and, honestly, Xenoblade Chronicles should have been Game of the Year at some point, but they go by sales and who has the most money to bribe with) you're just falling for the corporate trap.

I have difficulty picking just one. Dishonored, The Walking Dead and XCOM are tied at first for me.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (just for the lolz, it's obvious it won't win, but I wish it had, awesome and beautiful game IMO)

X-com and Guild Wars 2 for me right now. Can't pick which one.

Dishonored or The Walking Dead.

hard to decide this year... in my opinion none of the games released in 2012 is outstanding. In 2013 it probably will be GTA V^^
