The only assassins I'm excluding are the ones from Unity, Rogue, and Victory.
This is either because I haven't played them yet, they're not out yet, or I'm just not interested. Anyways, that shouldn't stop you, if you feel they're the best, go ahead and vote them down in the comments.

Who is the best assassin?

View Results
Desmond Miles (All)
Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad (AC 1, Revelations)
Ezio Auditore da Firenze (AC 2, Brotherhood, Revelations)
Ratonhnhaké:ton AKA Conner (AC III, Liberation)
Haytham Kenway (AC III, Rogue)
Edward James Kenway (AC IV)

Altair because he is the stealthiest one and gained his rank step by step not just randomly becoming an assassin.
best game is AC2 but thats another poll..
Also Ezio's best armor is ALTAIR'S armor, and weapon ALTAIR'S sword not something else.

At the beginning of the game Altair is already a high ranked Assassins, however because of his rash actions and failure he is demoted... he learns a humbling lesson and becomes one of the best Assassin EVER!

However Ezio's story is quite compelling, he's the one who discovered the Apple of Eden and started unraveling the Templar's darkest secrets of mass control, and you get to play him on 3 different games (I've only played AC2 with him though).

Ezio Auditore for sure. He was in (IMO) best AC chapters.

Altair because in AC1 Ubilol still worked on characters' personality, Ezio is good enough, then AC saga become totally trash

Really? Maybe my memory is bad, but I think that AC1 had the least character development, sue it was a story about maturing and becoming a true leader (and that final boss battle was SICK), but other than that I think Ezio's story in AC2 was far superior.

They wiped my whole family, I'll become a master assassin and I'll rape them from behind.

How Original, Waow.

And let's add some random npc named with some random historical characters, so it becomes more epic, WaaaaaaahoW

It's not like starting full geared and losing all is much original either... I don't care about Da Vinci but the cities were A LOT more varied and beautiful, with more puzzles and you are against the corrupt Vatican of the time!

You are more likely to find Medieval games set around the Crusades but very few games set during the Renaissance, there was less variety in AC1 gameplay and you start as an Assassin from the get go so that's not much interesting as seing how they butcher your family and you claim revenge by joining your father's secret order.

But we both digress, what is so interesting about Altair's personality? The regular petulant hot head who gets demoted and needs to climb his way back up and nothing more.

My personal favorites:

  • Ezio - He's simply the best, great character development and Italy was super fun in AC2
  • Edward - Because PIRATES, yargh!
  • Altair - Super badass, but rather bland story in AC1
