You should probably look into CS training first. It's more work than you might expect.

I wonder how cg recruits... I'm pretty sure bobofatt got in through posting a special thread many months ago, but I'm not sure about the rest.

Around the same time I posted that, I was speaking to Rinarin and told her I was interested in helping out, she passed it along to cg.

Is that all you need to do?

Because I'm unemployed and not doing anything important anyway. :P

Pretty much, we've told cg names of people who have expressed interest, or who we would recommend. He has yet to do anything with that, as far as I know.

Can you please pass this on to CG?

Didn't you say you're a seventh grader right now? Not to sound mean or disrespectful but you should probably concentrate on your studies first.

I agree with this.

Likewise not trying to be mean, but if you can't even deal with this are you really qualified to be a mod?

Yeah, that's why I can only do it on weekends instead of playing games.

No. If you are a support for anything, that thing would be screwed.

I really don't see this happening but that's just my view. To tell your hypothetical employers that you'd only be helping two days out of a week(which is also in question since you're in school and may have projects that needs to be done) really doesn't help out your case. Most of the mods I see are online most of the time in the chat and the likes. I think I speak for at least some of the members here that we'd rather you be a social, athletic kid with some friends than a introvert who's only accomplishment throughout his 7th grade is that he's a mod/support on a website. Go out and play on weekends, watch some movies.

You make a good point. I punched the bully in the balls and now im going to the office :(, i've never went to office. I punched him during athletics, and everyone was like "ooh burn", and then the coach saw and made me go to the office. I have an "appointment with principal and parents tomrrow :D"

Also, your comment that "im willing to put time into it." contradicts with your statement of "I can only do it on weekends". To me, that's not really putting time into it; that's barely scratching the surface of time. If you are thinking of doing it, I'm guessing you should have 10 hours put off to the side everyday to spend answering stupid questions and the likes on this site while reviewing reports and other things. Another reason to dedicate your time to school and forget about becoming staff. Make sure you graduate college with a BA/BS, get a good job in front of a computer, then think about it.

Don't worry, your probably way more mature and responsible than the current support staff members of this site... They just don't want anyone to out show their corrupted low-life ways. To be SG Staff, you need to compare at least to Hilter's standards.

You gotta be pretty bad to get an "Inappropriate Behavior" suspension from cg of all people. He never gives those out. I think the problem may be on your end.

Oh, FFS... If cg wasn't such a darn softie, you'd still have a permanent vacation for the crap you pulled.

The process is explained below. Generally, we try not to have people that make daily ridiculous threads and get angrier than I do sometimes while not actually contributing anything tangible to the community.

Also, not having a suspension history is a good start.

Yeah, I have a long history of suspension's looks like even thinking about it even when im 25 won't seem possible.

Damned kids mods and their interweb contraptions. I'd ban you all if I could

For most people, being a mod isn't fun. I was a mod in a Minecraft server a long time ago. I was a terrible mod because I wanted to play Minecraft instead of moderate.

Yep. While it may seem like a glamorous position, it's probably tedious, time-consuming, and thankless. Props to our support staff.

Depends on the community tbh. A friend of mine owns a minecraft server and wanted me to be a mod but I denied it because 90% of their players were 8-12 and annoying as hell. Just playing as a normal player I had to turn chat off because of the non stop bitching and complaining.

But during my diablo 2 days, 2005ish, I was a mod for a trade website and loved it.
