The thing is, you have to click Discussion Tab first, and only after that you can choose your needed Category.
In this case, which Argaen offers, we would be able to go to any Categories instantly from main page.

i made a script to add extra link in the nav bar, but i didn't want to add categories because it just clutters the drop down menu.
you can make a bookmark folder and put all the categories in there, it's super easy and convenient:

In the top menu, under the Discussions item, I think there could be links to the different categories, like Deals, Announcements or Group Recruitment. I almost always go to the same few categories and this would be easy to implement.
I've added a poll to make it easier to know the public sentiment for this.
